The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) may comfort Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) over a Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) crisis. Rey could easily step up for this distraught mom and deepen their bond as a result, so let’s talk about what we know so far.
Although Rey claims to love his life with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), fatherhood is something that’s always been missing. Rey is a stepdad to Sharon’s older children, but that’s not the same as being hands-on with a young child.
Y&R fans know Rey got a little taste of Daddy mode through Connor. He spent some time getting to know Connor when he escorted him to Minnesota along with Chelsea.
Rey also confided in Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) recently about seeing Connor so sad and confused over his parents’ split. That sadness and confusion could get worse after Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) becomes an official couple with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Once Sally and Adam get serious, it’s just a matter of time before they break the news to Connor. After Connor realizes his “friend” Sally has become his dad’s new girlfriend, he may flip out and blame her for breaking up his family.
Connor blamed Sharon at one point, but it may be Sally’s turn to face the kid’s anger. Regardless, Chelsea should be frustrated if Connor doesn’t react well to Adam’s relationship updates.
It could leave Chelsea needing someone to lean on – and that’s where the always protective Rey should come in. Rey may have a little chat with Connor and help him adjust to all the changes.
Naturally, Rey can also console Chelsea and pull her even closer in the process. Chelsea is already dealing with some strong feelings for Rey, so any Connor crisis they work through together could deepen what she feels.
