The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) funeral arrangements will need to be made. Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle), Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) and Celeste Rosales (Eva LaRue) will all face this tragedy once the news makes it to Miami, but what happens then?
It’s obvious that the show is rushing Rey’s deadly exit.
This seems more like a hasty strategy to write Rey out than something the show actually wants to focus on.
Rey doesn’t even feel like he’s at the center of the story with all the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) chaos going on.
As a result, it’s doubtful there’s going to be much in terms of a funeral for Rey.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and some of Rey’s other loved ones might simply gather in the aftermath of an offscreen memorial service.
There’s a chance Rey’s main funeral will be held in Miami since he’s got a ton of family in Florida, including Celeste, Lola, Arturo and Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez).
Regardless, Rey’s family will indeed have to be informed of his tragic passing.
It’s tough to believe Y&R would go to the trouble of bringing anyone in the Rosales fam back for this unless it’s through a brief video chat.
Many fans are complaining about this being a rather disrespectful exit for Rey.
It seems like fair criticism under the circumstances. Even Jordi Vilasuso has been liking tweets that disapprove of how the show’s handling Rey’s departure.
Sadly, it doesn’t look like Rey will get the proper sendoff he deserves, but there’ll still have to be a funeral – even if viewers never actually see it.
Let’s hope the GC residents who knew Rey best can at least gather at Crimson Lights to share a few memories.
