Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) is facing a world of grief along with the other people who had the great pleasure of knowing Rey.
Chance was one of those people since he was Rey’s partner as well as his close friend.
The loss is hitting Chance hard, especially since he already had to go through losing all his colleagues in Spain.
However, Chance has been putting some real work into his therapy sessions and is starting to heal.
It’d be understandable if losing Rey like this caused a setback in Chance’s recovery, but he won’t let that happen.
Instead, Chance will choose to find a sense of purpose in Rey’s death and use it to propel himself in a positive direction.
Chance will realize that Rey has left many open GCPD cases that still need to be solved.
That just goes back to Rey’s demise being so sudden and proving you never know when life will be cut short.
Chance will want to make the most of his return to the force and make Rey proud by solving all those mysteries he inadvertently left dangling.
Of course, this could lead to some dangerous situations along the way.
Chance may throw himself into peril at times, but he’ll gain the sense of normalcy he’s craving and push past some fears.
This will also serve as a coping strategy in a time of grief.
Chance will feel like this is what Rey would want, so he’ll set out to conquer those open cases one by one and eventually close them all.
