The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) shocking exit should hit Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) hard. In the aftermath, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) may realize they must come together for their son in his time of need.
Y&R has really been playing up Rey’s bond with Connor lately.
Chelsea always talks about how much Connor enjoys being with Rey and how chatty he is around him.
Rey even stepped up to take Connor to the Blackhawks game when Chelsea and Adam had to focus on work.
There’s probably a good reason they’re pushing this Connor and Rey angle.
Connor has already faced way too much loss in his life so far.
Conor thought Adam was dead for quite some time – and he lost the stepfather he cared about when Calvin Boudreau (John Burke) died, too.
Of course, Connor has also faced some emotional upheaval due to his parents’ split.
Adam made all kinds of promises he couldn’t keep about their family’s future, so Connor may consider Rey to be his rock in a way.
No matter what’s going on with Connor’s mom and dad, he can count on Rey to be there.
What happens when Connor’s bond with Rey is yanked away? That’s obviously going to happen one way or another since Jordi Vilasuso is set to exit the show.
There’s a good chance Rey’s exit will be a tragic one since it’s going to happen abruptly. It’s possible Rey will die, so that could certainly be traumatic for Connor.
Regardless, Rey’s not going to be in Connor’s life anymore since he’s headed off the show.
Y&R spoilers point to some Connor troubles in the not-too-distant future, so Chelsea and Adam will have a reason to reconnect.
That could bring Adam closer to Chelsea and give Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) some competition once again.
Sally would never want to interfere in what’s best for Connor, but she may fear Chelsea’s going to use the situation to her advantage.
Chelsea likes to claim she’s put Adam in the rearview mirror, but she also defends him as a father and never fails to mention how Connor’s always going to tie them together.
Rey’s exit will take a toll on Chelsea as well and could perhaps leave her looking for a lifeline.
Adam and Chelsea could indeed reconnect in the aftermath of Rey’s departure, so should Sally be worried about her own future with Adam?
