The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) past could tie in with her future. Y&R fans know Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) had his team do some digging and put together a thick dossier on Sally’s old transgressions.
There’s been a lot of focus on Sally faking a terminal illness back in Los Angeles, which is weird since viewers already knew this.
Even if you didn’t watch it play out on The Bold and the Beautiful, Y&R did a crossover with B&B and highlighted this bogus terminal illness info.
In other words, it’s not some big bombshell that they should really be concentrating on now – at least not from a fan standpoint. Could there be a deeper reason for the show’s decision to dive back into this?
It’s possible when we look at the latest spoilers for the week of December 26-30, which indicate that Sally will hide a secret.
Sally will keep something under wraps from Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and others in Genoa City, so we have to consider what that something might be.
With all this focus on Sally’s former fake illness, could the show be on the verge of giving her a real one?
Sally isn’t someone who likes to be viewed as weak – and she certainly doesn’t want anyone’s pity.
It’s easy to imagine Sally not wanting to taint her new romance with Nick with news that she’s sick.
Sally might face a medical diagnosis and hide the truth from Nick as long as she can.
Perhaps Sally could fight some mystery illness alone for a while and hope she can beat it without Nick even knowing.
Sally might fear that Nick’s family and other naysayers will just think she’s faking again if she comes clean.
This would be the perfect scenario to inch Sally back in Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) direction eventually.
Sally might open up to Adam at some point and swear him to secrecy.
Adam could become a trusted confidant and maybe even reignite his old spark with Sally in the process.
Of course, the show sometimes makes spoilers out to be a bigger deal than they actually are.
Sally’s secret could be a bit more on the mundane side if she’s making plans for Nick’s birthday or has some other surprise in store.
Nevertheless, it’s at least worth considering the idea that Sally could be seriously ill – for real this time!
