The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) could get a Marchetti job offer. Will Sally become Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) shocking backup plan after Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) rejection?
Summer thought she’d found the perfect designer candidate in Chelsea, but she’ll get some bad news when Chelsea officially turns her down.
Chelsea is taking a step back from her fashion career entirely, so that’ll force Summer and Kyle to seek alternatives.
Of course, Y&R could bring in a new character or simply let another offscreen designer do the job, but that’d mean ditching a storyline opportunity.
With that in mind, we should think about who Summer and Kyle might consider once Chelsea is no longer an option.
Sally has plenty of fashion experience and would be a great choice from a drama standpoint.
Summer and Sally obviously have a complex history since Sally once helped Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) force Summer out of town.
Sally arranged for Summer to get her dream job at Marchetti, so it’d be an interesting twist for Summer to offer Sally a job now.
It’d also force Summer to put her issues with Sally aside and focus on Marchetti’s future.
If they decide Sally is what’s best for Marchetti, you can bet Summer and Kyle will be willing to put the past to rest.
Summer was adamant about Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) calling a truce, so she’d be a hypocrite if she couldn’t make peace and work with Sally. That’d be another intriguing layer to all this.
Things are also up in the air at Newman Media now, so Sally is questioning what the future holds with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) there.
If Sally gets a chance to work in fashion again with an amazing new Marchetti designer position, she might be tempted to take it.
Sally may at least get the offer and have to make a big decision regarding it.
