The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) could face some dating decision drama. When should the widow move on from Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and focus on the future again?
Of course, it hasn’t been that long since Sharon suffered the crushing loss of her husband. Rey’s death was quite sudden, so the life he’d built with Sharon was ripped away without warning.
It’s only been a couple months since Rey died, so Sharon obviously still needs time to heal her broken heart. The question is: how much time?
Soaps tend to speed up the grieving process and let people move on faster than they usually would in real life, so that’s important to keep in mind.
Sharon has already been growing closer to Nick again, so Y&R seems to have a long-game strategy that involves putting “Shick” back together.
There are still going to be some challenges along the way – including deciding when Sharon should actually take the plunge back into the world of dating.
At some point, Sharon will inevitably realize that her feelings for Nick have grown deeper than friendship again.
Nick will be feeling all the same things, so this could build to a kiss in the heat of the moment.
However, that would no doubt feel like a betrayal on Sharon’s end if it happens too soon.
It’s the kind of thing that could scare Sharon off the renewed romance that’s brewing and make her push Nick away.
Sharon has been putting on a brave face and coping with the loss pretty well, but she’s still hurting.
When the time comes for Sharon to truly let go and move on, taking the next dating step with Nick will be tough.
Sharon will have to make peace with the fact that Rey would want her to live her life – and if that means finding love with Nick once more, we’d have to imagine Rey would be all for it.
Rey could see how strong Nick and Sharon’s bond was before his death, so he’d surely support a “Shick” reunion now that he’s gone.
Will Sharon and Nick end up dating by autumn? Could fall serve as a time of new beginnings in Genoa City?
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sharon will have a lot to work through in the meantime, but Nick will continue to support her.
