The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will embrace a flirty co-host job with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Sparks will fly after accepting Billy’s offer to take the mic alongside him, so let’s talk about why these two are playing with fire.
Y&R fans know Chelsea recently did some soul-searching and determined that Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) was right about her spreading herself too thin.
Chelsea eventually determined that the best thing she could do for her mental well-being is take a major step back.
Now that Chelsea is choosing to walk away from the Fenmore’s deal and reject the Marchetti designer position, she’ll need something else to fill her time.
Chelsea doesn’t want something stressful, but she could use a fun distraction to help her heal.
That’s why Chelsea offered to serve as sort of a creative advisor for Billy and be his podcast sounding board.
Billy ultimately decided he could perhaps get on board with that, but he’ll soon stun Chelsea by taking her role a step further.
Since Chelsea’s input has proven valuable so far, Billy will invite her to be his co-host on one of his podcasts.
Billy usually holes himself up in the middle of the night to talk doom and gloom, so Chelsea suggested that might be part of the problem.
Once Billy takes that advice to heart, he’ll think maybe he can lighten things up and entertain fans by playing off Chelsea right next to him.
Chelsea will mull over this offer and determine that it could be a good thing for her mental health.
This certainly isn’t as stressful as the mountain of designs and deadlines Chelsea was dealing with before, but she’ll still have a sense of purpose.
As a bonus, Chelsea will get to spend more time with Billy, so there’ll eventually be some flirting on the podcast.
Billy and Chelsea may not see it that way, but their listeners just might!
It’s easy to imagine people rooting for these exes to get back together based on their podcast interactions, which will no doubt hint at their complicated history.
This is the kind of thing that could make Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) uncomfortable and lead to more problems in her relationship with Billy.
Billy will be hanging out with someone other than his girlfriend constantly, so this could mean he’s headed for a forbidden hookup with Chelsea eventually.
