The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) may kidnap Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) – forcing Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) to come together to find the baby boy they all love.
When Sean Carrigan’s last stint wrapped up, the story was left open for another one. After all, if the show wanted true closure, they could’ve just had Stitch get arrested and thrown in jail.
Instead, Y&R writers allowed Stitch to steal Max Rayburn (last played by Jared Breeze) out of his facility and go on the run with him.
They let Stitch take off with his son, but what now? Is that really it – Stitch just swipes Max never to be heard from again? It seems like there’s another chapter to tell here.
That’s especially true since Stitch’s name has been coming up again lately.
There were some mentions as Abby reflected on the past and how Devon was the one to see the warning signs in Stitch.
Devon helped crack the case of who kidnapped Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), who was pregnant with Dominic at the time.
There might be an opportunity for Chance to put his investigative skills to good use if Stitch makes a comeback.
Why would Stitch go after Dominic at this point? The answer is simple: Stitch is clearly unwell and could go off the rails entirely if Max dies.
We’ve established that mentally unstable Stitch’s story seems unfinished – and Max’s condition was declining rapidly even before Stitch took him out of a facility that he obviously needed.
It’s logical to think Max might die and cause his grieving father so seek Dominic out.
Whether Stitch wanted a fresh-start child or perhaps convinced himself Dom was Max, there’d be the potential for some great drama.
Chance, Abby and Devon could put their custody issues aside to focus on finding Dominic before it was too late!
This could even revive some attachment issues for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and pull her into the storyline along with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks).
Sean Carrigan is open to return stints, so it seems like a no-brainer to bring Stitch back for another round of kidnapping chaos. We’ll offer updates as other Y&R news rolls in.
