The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) may team up against Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Will they plot to drive Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) mom away from the Abbott family once and for all?
Summer will eventually become part of this storyline – and she certainly won’t like the pain that Diane’s return has brought to Kyle’s life!
Diane’s reputation will leave Summer with plenty of concerns, but Phyllis could add even more with her own horror stories.
From where Phyllis is standing, nothing good can come from Diane’s comeback.
Summer may ultimately agree with Phyllis and wonder what they can do to protect Kyle as well as Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Phyllis is trying to convince herself that her relationship with Jack is strictly platonic, but we all know it runs far deeper than that.
Regardless, Phyllis cares for Jack and doesn’t want to see Diane do anymore damage.
Since Phyllis has already vowed to look out for Jack, that’s a promise she intends to keep.
Summer may also want to protect her husband, especially if she feels like Kyle is getting taken for a ride.
Diane’s motives will be questioned as Summer joins Phyllis in her skepticism and battles growing worries.
There’s the potential for a great mother-daughter duo to form against Diane once Summer’s in Genoa City again.
It’s tough to believe Summer will get along with Diane under the circumstances.
The fact that Diane is Summer’s mother-in-law automatically opens the door to drama, but that’s particularly true since Diane is blowing back into Kyle’s world after pretending to be dead.
Diane did something that completely altered the course of Kyle’s life and left him forever changed.
That loss shaped Kyle in so many ways – and Diane’s return will cause some big shakeups, too.
If Diane disapproves of the “Skyle” marriage and tries to cause problems, that’ll be another reason for Summer to join forces with Phyllis against Diane.
Phyllis and Summer may want to run Diane right out of town, but Diane will no doubt fight back.
It’ll be fun to see Allison Lanier’s debut as a recast and watch her version of Summer interact with Phyllis – perhaps as partners in crime!
