The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman (last played by Hunter King) could face a mother-in-law nightmare once Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) poses a huge threat to Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) marriage.
Diane should eventually want a chance to bond with Kyle again and make up for lost time.
Diane will no doubt hope to get to know Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) as her grandson, but her daughter-in-law could be a different story entirely.
Diane and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) used to be rivals before Diane’s “death” in 2011.
After Phyllis finds out Diane is behind this strange text mystery and has used this plot to dupe Jack, she’s certainly not going to be happy about the deception.
Phyllis and Diane’s rivalry could be back on in a big way, which could affect Diane’s view of Summer as well.
Will Diane really want Kyle married to the daughter of one of her fiercest foes? Diane may decide she’d prefer if Kyle were married to literally anyone else!
Y&R put out a casting call in hopes of finding a new actress to play Summer Newman – one they can put on contract for some lengthy storylines in Genoa City.
Summer could get back in the action with a mother-in-law battle if Diane plots to break up “Skyle.”
Of course, Phyllis is always going to defend Summer and her happiness.
If Diane poses a threat to Summer’s bliss with Kyle, Phyllis will definitely help fight off the enemy.
Summer could at least know she’s got her mom on her side for any war that might be brewing.
There’ll be some good story opportunities now that Diane’s getting in the mix again, especially with all the history she brings to the table.
A back-from-the-dead bombshell is always a great way to pull off a soapy twist and deliver some renewed rivalries, so it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane’s return will shake things up for several characters, so stay tuned.
