The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) may make an SOS call to Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). Will Summer realize she needs some brother backup for spiraling Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)?
Phyllis has been trying to keep her emotions under control when it comes to the Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) situation, but she may fail miserably soon. That’s because Phyllis genuinely thought she’d be able to drive Diane out of town with her latest plot.
Instead, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is digging his heels in and defending Diane. In Y&R’s November 10 episode, Jack warns Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) that he doesn’t care if Diane has a hundred more secrets and urges her to leave the “poor woman” alone!
That says a lot about where Jack stands. Jack’s priority is preserving Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) relationship with his mother, but it’s clear that Jack has developed a certain fondness for Diane that he can’t ignore.
If Jack’s feelings for Diane grow even stronger, that could really push Phyllis over the edge. Phyllis already seems like she’s not in a great place emotionally based on her conversation with Amanda in that same November 10 episode.
Amanda is Phyllis’ only real friend, but she feels like she’s losing her. There’s nothing left for Amanda in Genoa City now that she wants to distance herself from Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and her work at the company he’s a huge part of.
Phyllis is bound to be down in the dumps for a while, so that could give Summer another reason to lift her spirits. In the past, Summer has reached out to Daniel for help when she needed to offer their mother a pick-me-up.
Summer could be poised to do that once again since we know Daniel will come home for the holidays this year. Of course, it’s possible Daniel will return to Genoa City without any encouragement, but it’s also possible Summer will send out an SOS call and seek some brother backup.
Regardless, Phyllis will certainly be pleased when Daniel heads back to Genoa City – and he’ll indeed show up before November sweeps winds down. We’ll bring you updates as other Y&R news becomes available.
