The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, April 21, teases that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will reveal Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) death to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) while Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) defends Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
At the shack on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Victoria will be in denial about Rey’s crash fatality.
Victoria will act like it must’ve been someone else or that maybe Rey was just unconscious.
However, Ashland will insist that Rey is gone. He’ll assure Victoria that it wasn’t her fault and speculate that perhaps Rey swerved into her lane to avoid something in the road.
Victoria will still blame herself since nobody should’ve been out on the road. She’ll think Rey is dead because of her, but Ashland will maintain that’s not the case.
Victoria will ultimately thank Ashland for saving her and mention the irony since the real Ashland Locke died in a burning car.
She won’t get why Ashland is so insistent on helping her, but he’ll tell Victoria that he loves her – no matter what’s happened.
Victoria will wonder if this is Ashland’s way of trying to get her to forgive him, but he’ll counter that it wasn’t calculated.
Ashland will admit he can learn to live with Victoria hating him as long as she’s alive.
At Crimson Lights, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will talk to Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) about hockey and get him smiling on the patio.
Meanwhile, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will join Sharon in the main dining area.
Sharon will suggest Chelsea was looking forward to spending time with Rey for herself tonight – though she’ll insist she’s not accusing Chelsea of anything…yet.
Chelsea will realize Sharon thinks she has a crush on her husband.
Although Chelsea will acknowledge that Rey is an incredible man, she’ll know Rey is “very married.”
Chelsea will note that even if she did have some fleeting thought about Rey, it doesn’t matter. She’ll argue that Sharon and Rey are meant to be together.
After Chance gets a call about the accident, he’ll seem concerned. Chance will take off in a hurry without giving Sharon any details.
Out in the fog, Nick will call to tell Victor and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that he’s at the crash site.
Nick will note that Victoria isn’t in her car and assume she went to find help with Ashland since his car is there, too.
Nick will admit to Victor that Rey didn’t make it and will talk to Chance once he shows up.
Since Nick won’t want Sharon getting updates from a stranger, he’ll be willing to break the news of Rey’s death himself.
Once Victor and Nikki make it to the shack, Victoria will only be willing to leave for the hospital if they tell her what happened to Rey.
Nikki will confess that the paramedics are loading Rey into the ambulance, so Victoria will hope that means Rey is alive.
Victor will confirm Rey didn’t make it, so Victoria will be visibly distraught.
As for Ashland, Victor will ask what in the world he’s doing there.
Victor will demand to know if Ashland is responsible for this accident, but Victoria will pipe up and insist that Ashland saved her life.
Back at the coffeehouse, Sharon will be sorry if it seemed like she was accusing Chelsea before. Chelsea will be glad they talked and will decide she’d better get Connor home.
After Sharon closes up, she’ll leave Rey another voicemail and hope he’ll call her back. Nick will arrive looking grim as he prepares to drop the bomb that Rey’s dead.
Sharon will find out the latest Victoria details before sensing trouble. She’ll start rambling about Rey’s favorite treats like she’s trying to delay the inevitable.
Nick will admit he has something he needs to tell Sharon, but she’ll start to cry and ask him to give her a minute before everything falls apart.
Sharon will eventually face Nick’s news about Rey’s involvement in the accident.
After Sharon learns there was nothing the EMTs could do, she’ll sob in Nick’s arms.
