The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 18, tease that there’ll be a bloody print found in Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) car, but Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) security guards will disappear. Let’s talk about all the action coming up on Thursday’s exciting Y&R episode.
After Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) texts Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) in hopes of meeting up, she’ll get a visit from Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) in her office.
Victoria will eventually convince Chelsea to cut to the chase, so Chelsea will admit this is about getting Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and Johnny Abbott (last played by Ryan and Holden Hare) together for a playdate.
Once Victoria suspects there’s more to the story, Chelsea will reveal that she wants the boys to know they’re brothers and for Johnny to know she’s his biological mother.
Victoria will remind Chelsea of their initial agreement and will point out it was never her intention to hide the truth indefinitely.
That said, Victoria won’t think this is the right time since the kids are still dealing with Ashland’s death.
Although Chelsea will understand that, she’ll also worry this could feel like some terrible secret the longer they wait.
Victoria will eventually acknowledge that even secrets kept with kindness can do damage, so she’ll agree to think about Chelsea’s request.
At Society, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will talk to Chance about the Ashland case.
After Abby expresses concern for Victoria and Victor, she’ll confess that she’s also worried about Chance and the stress of this moral conflict.
Abby will mention Chance’s duty to his family and will point out that he missed Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) saying “bye-bye.”
Chance will argue that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) spends a lot of time with Dom as well, so they can’t all be expected to be there for every special moment.
As for the Ashland case, Chance will think he’d be a hypocrite if he put family above the law.
Although Chance will feel like he’s being pulled in so many directions, Abby will reiterate that his opinion is the only one that matters.
Moments later, Victoria will show up to speak with Chance alone. Abby will seem on edge as she steps away and looks back at the two of them talking.
Victoria will basically let Chance know that it wasn’t her intention to pressure him through her recent discussion with Abby.
Although Victoria will play up how she admires Chance’s sense of right and wrong, she’ll also insist her family is safe now and will think Ashland’s outcome was for the best.
At Crimson Lights, Devon will accuse Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) of thinking it’d be easier to get the green light on his ideas if he took them to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Nate will counter that Lily asked for those ideas and actually listened.
After Nate calls Devon out for being bullheaded and egotistical, he’ll gripe about Devon’s need for total control.
Devon will argue that Nate can’t handle being inexperienced and is too sensitive when it comes to criticism.
Once Devon gets all worked up about Nate needing to follow his rules, Nate will ask if Devon’s going to punch him again.
Devon will think this is clearly about more than Chancellor-Winters, so he’ll push Nate to figure himself out before they talk again.
Meanwhile, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will miss an important video conference after losing track of time on the podcast.
That’ll lead to Lily scolding Billy and pointing out it’s not the first time he’s dropped the ball.
Lily will think Billy has far more passion for his podcast and will act like he needs to own it if he’s bored by the COO side of things.
Billy will suggest it almost sounds like Lily is asking him if he wants to quit.
Lily will deny that, so Billy will be sorry the argument escalated. After Lily agrees she doesn’t want to fight, she’ll open the gift Billy left on the desk for her.
Lily will be expecting jewelry, so she’ll disappointed when it’s new earbuds – though she’ll try to cover by calling them practical.
Once Lily turns her attention back to Billy, she’ll suggest he needs to think about what he wants.
Later, Billy will have a drink on the GCAC rooftop bar. After Victoria appears, she’ll call Billy out for not giving her a heads-up about Chelsea’s wishes.
Billy will apologize and agree with Victoria about the Johnny situation being a massive decision.
Victoria will decide to let Billy bore her with podcast details, but they’ll ultimately discuss how he’s still trying to figure out what he wants to be when he grows up.
Once Victoria thanks Billy for the chat and his friendship, she’ll take off.
Chelsea will seem uneasy as she spies on Victoria and Billy’s bonding session before cornering Billy alone.
That’ll lead to Chelsea commenting on how nice it is that Billy and Victoria have been able to stay friends.
Billy will admit that wasn’t always the case, but Chelsea will suggest she always thought Billy and Victoria brought out the best in each other.
At the coffeehouse, Abby and Devon will discuss how working with family can be complicated. After Devon vents about his Nate issues, Abby will unload about Chance’s moral quandary.
Abby and Devon will feel like it’s great that they can talk honestly without fear of offending each other.
Devon will suggest Abby can do that with Chance as well, but he’ll think Nate is fighting him at every turn and will worry this is a sign of bigger problems.
Back with Chance, he’ll meet with Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and learn they indeed got DNA off the cigarette butt, but Victor’s security guys disappeared.
Kevin will point out that they can’t subpoena them to see if they’re a match.
Next, Kevin will explain that there was a bloody print found inside the door handle of Ashland’s car. Although it’s Ashland’s blood, it’ll be hard to match since it’s only a partial.
The curious thing will be that the car was a rental and would normally have a ton of prints. Instead, it was meticulously wiped clean.
Kevin will note that he had the techs go back and process the car again, which is when they made this discovery.
Chance and Kevin will agree this strengthens the theory of another driver who had Ashland’s blood on his hands when he transported the body.
Kevin will wonder if Chance wants to devote the time and manpower to tracking down the missing security guards, which would give them the DNA and prints.
“Or do you have enough to take this case to the DA?” Kevin will ask. As other Y&R news comes in, we’ll bring you updates.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chance will have to make some difficult choices as this case heats up, so stay tuned.
