The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, January 13 Recap – Chelsea Comforts Adam Over Victor – Sally Rejected

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 13, teases that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will comfort Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) over Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) patronizing move – and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will get rejected following her New York trip offer.

At Crimson Lights on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will bicker over Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), but Ashland will ultimately claim his mind is elsewhere. He’ll reveal his positive lab results to Lily and insists he truly wishes her well along with Billy.

Once Lily heads home, she’ll call about some contracts and seek intel on how Billy’s meeting with Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) is going. She’ll smile over the encouraging signs and will seem pleased over the flower delivery Billy sends later.

At the ranch, Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) will twist things around and act like she forced Billy to back down or else she was going to take the news of his scheme straight to Victor and Adam.

Victoria will spin it so that Adam looks bad for not seeing what she saw, but Victor won’t want her using this situation to secure control of Newman Media. He’ll want to give Adam more time to prove himself, but Victoria will think Adam’s only going to run the company into the ground – giving her a chance to buy it for a lot less.

Afterward, Victoria will return to her office and accept Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) congratulatory gift of new shoes. Nikki will be glad the ChancComm sale didn’t cause any real family drama, but Victoria will admit her second business move didn’t go over so well.

Nikki won’t want Victoria starting a turf war with Adam over Newman Media, but it’ll bug her that there’s a company out there with her name out on it that’s not part of her empire. Once Victoria is alone with Ashland, she’ll argue that this isn’t about punishing Adam. It’s about recognizing the fact that Adam never earned that position in the first place.

Victoria will gloat over Victor leaving the door open for the sale and will remain confident she can get control of Newman Media away from Adam. Meanwhile, Adam will turn down Sally’s tempting New York offer right as Chelsea appears outside Society.

Sally will cover up the fact that she wanted Adam to tag along on the trip, but Chelsea will still get the feeling that Sally made some sort of move and got shot down. She’ll tell Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to go easy on the “poor girl” and will revel in Sally’s failure.

Back at their table, Sally will tell Chloe that it doesn’t matter if she’s in the picture or not. She won’t think that’s affecting Adam’s decision to shut down Chelsea’s family reunion ideas. Sally will suggest that with her gone on this trip, Chelsea may have to face that sad reality.

At Newman Media, Victor will blow into Adam’s office to talk about Billy’s scheme and how Victoria put a stop to it. He’ll contend that Victoria saw through the whole thing when Adam didn’t. “And you should have,” Victor will insist.

Adam will argue that he would’ve figured it out eventually and won’t think the company was ever in any peril. He’ll assure Victor that Sally wasn’t in on Billy’s plan and will think it’s a waste of time even thinking about all this.

Victor will announce that he wants to take a more active role at Newman Media – clearly as a response to the doubts Victoria has planted. When Adam tries to object, Victor will counter that he’s not asking for approval. He’ll tell Adam that this isn’t up for debate and will urge his son to have a nice day before he goes.

At the ranch again, Nikki will basically want to stay out of the latest drama, but she’ll worry since Victor seems concerned about the other shoe dropping. Victor will reassure Nikki, but he’ll definitely seem to think another Newman storm is brewing.

Back in Adam’s office, he’ll have a flashback of Victor saying he’d never turn his back on him. Adam will recall declaring that he’d prove to everyone that Victor was right to believe in him.

When Chelsea interrupts looking for that drink they agreed to have together, Adam will snap at her. Chelsea will call Adam out for being a jerk, so he’ll apologize and admit this is about someone else.

Adam will admit he was reminded that with the Newmans, there’s no such thing as independence. Chelsea will realize Victor was being Victor and doing his usual patronizing dance. She’ll think Adam always comes out in the end and will insist her money’s on him.

Adam won’t know why he lets Victor get to him, but Chelsea will contend that it’s because he loves his father – and in Victor’s own exasperating way, he loves Adam, too. Chelsea will make Adam feel better, so he’ll be glad to have someone around who knows his history.

After Chelsea points out it’s her history too, she’ll offer to listen if Adam ever wants to talk about the never-ending Newman saga. Adam will reply that he might have to take Chelsea up on that, so she’ll suggest right now and note that drinks are on her.

“Why not?” Adam will decide as he gets up and joins Chelsea. There’ll be some smiles as Chelsea and Adam reconnect in this little moment together.

As other Y&R updates come in, we’ll keep you posted. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will continue to wrestle with his feelings for both Chelsea and Sally, so stay tuned.
