The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 27, reveals that drunk Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) will snap at Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) while a widow’s letter hits Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) hard. Let’s talk about all the drama coming up in Thursday’s shocking Y&R episode.
At Crimson Lights, Tessa will offer some adoption updates to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case).
Tessa will also mention Chance and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) deciding to share custody with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), so she’ll worry about how Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is taking that news.
However, Mariah will seem chipper when she shows up and asks to speak with Tessa alone.
Mariah will get Tessa to close her eyes until they’re on the patio, where Mariah will show Tessa the hanging star decorations above them.
Mariah will reflect on some milestones in their relationship involving stars – like when they watched a movie under them on their first date.
After Mariah declares that they were written in the stars, she’ll ask Tessa to marry her and will slip her engagement ring on her finger.
Noah will show up just in time to witness the celebration as he peers through the window. After Mariah notices Noah, she’ll invite him to join their wedding discussion plans.
Sharon will want to throw Mariah and Tessa an engagement party, but they won’t really like her ideas.
That’s when Noah will suggest celebrating through a listening party for Tessa’s album, which was full of love songs for Mariah.
Tessa and Mariah will approve the suggestion, so they’ll thank Noah and wonder if he has any other ideas for their upcoming nuptials.
Noah will suddenly seem withdrawn and will act like they can take it from here. He’ll excuse himself and lie about grabbing some drinks with friends.
After Tessa decides to go pick up some takeout and bring it back to the coffeehouse, she’ll spot Noah drinking alone at Society.
Noah will pretend his friends bailed and will make a comment about how he’s used to seeing Tessa as part of the “Teriah” unit.
Tessa will realize Noah is getting rather drunk and will offer to take him home, but he won’t think that’s a good idea.
Noah will promise not to drive and will end up snapping at Tessa a bit. He’ll make it clear that this is nothing for Tessa to worry about.
Tessa still won’t want to leave Noah like this. She’ll ask if Noah’s sure he’s going to be OK.
“Why wouldn’t I be OK?” Noah will reply. “When you love someone, you want them to be happy.”
Noah will cover by acting like he meant he loves his sister and will walk away leaving Tessa looking bewildered.
At the Chancellor mansion, Abby won’t know what to do with herself.
Abby will drive herself crazy since she won’t have Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) to structure her night around.
At Devon’s penthouse, he’ll put on some music as he holds Dominic.
Devon will tell Dom that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and Uncle Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) are so happy to have him there.
“And Daddy,” Amanda will add. That’ll lead to Devon admitting he didn’t really mean to say that in front of Abby and Chance before.
Even so, Devon will feel like it’s the most natural feeling in the world having Dominic there with him.
Once it’s Dominic’s bedtime, Devon will get on a video chat with Abby and Chance.
It’ll lift Abby’s spirits seeing the baby, but she’ll seem sad again once they disconnect. It’ll be hard for Abby to get used to the idea of days and nights without Dominic at home.
Chance won’t think this has to be some weekly ordeal that they dread and will plan to prove they can make this something special.
Chance will end up giving Abby a massage and assuring her that she’s not alone, so Abby will cling to hope that they can thrive as a couple and family.
After Chance promises to be the man, father and husband he’s supposed to be, he’ll go through the mail later.
Chance will open a letter that leaves tears in his eyes, so Abby will wonder what’s wrong.
Chance will admit the widow of one of his team members in Spain wrote him.
The Widow wanted to thank Chance for offering funeral money and moral support for her as well as her little girl.
Chance will also read how this widow wants him to let go of his guilt and live his life with a sense of purpose.
Unfortunately, Chance will struggle to move on when his comrades didn’t come home like him.
Chance will admit to reaching out to all their families and making sure they had what they needed, so Abby will find that very generous.
Abby will vow to find a way to help Chance heal, but he’ll tell Abby that she’s all he needs and will kiss her passionately.
Back at the penthouse, Devon will be concerned since Dominic will have a little trouble settling in and going to sleep.
He’ll worry maybe Dominic picked up on the tension with Chance and Abby earlier, but Amanda will suggest Dom is just doing what babies do.
Just when Dominic drifts off in his play yard, Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) arrival will wake him up again.
Dominic will go to sleep once more, but then it’ll be Moses and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) who accidentally wake him.
After Devon fills Faith and Moses in on this being Dominic’s second home now, they’ll be happy for him.
Once Devon finally takes Dom up to his room, he’ll rejoin Amanda for a glass of wine on the sofa.
Dominic will start crying again, so Devon will tell Amanda he’s got this and will happily head upstairs to comfort the tot.
Back with Mariah at Crimson Lights, she’ll talk to Faith and Sharon about the shared custody situation.
Mariah will admit she’s made peace with it and will think Devon’s going to be a great bonus dad. She’ll remain excited about adopting a child of her own with Tessa.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Noah could make things messy for Tessa and Mariah, so don’t miss the obstacles ahead.
