The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 2, teases that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will threaten Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) with a breakup – and Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will chase after her distraught mom. Let’s talk about what Y&R fans can look forward to.
At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will show up ahead of their meeting with Gwen Davis, the woman who runs the digital marketing agency Hamilton-Winters has been using for years.
Soon after, Gwen will arrive and get reassurance from Devon about things not changing negatively after the merger.
Although Nate will seem like he wants to say something, he’ll hold back – leaving Devon to wonder why after Gwen leaves.
Nate will explain that he thought about pitching ideas for business growth, but it didn’t seem like the right time under the circumstances.
Devon will agree that was the right call, but he’ll also want Nate to feel free to speak up and will promise to always listen to his ideas.
At the Grand Phoenix, Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) will show up after inviting herself to another meeting about the launch party.
It’ll just be Imani and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) while they wait for the others.
That’ll give Imani a chance to make suggestions regarding a contract where negotiations have reached an impasse.
Imani will act like Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) is playing it too safe, but Lily will trust Amanda’s judgment implicitly.
At Newman Media, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will hear about the restraining order against Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) as well as Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) concerns about their plan to push Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) back to Ashland.
Although Adam will fear they’re running out of time, Sally will argue that they’ll find another plan if necessary.
With Sally on Adam’s side, she’ll have no doubt that the CEO seat will be his – though she won’t think there’s any rush.
At Crimson Lights, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will chat with Summer and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
After Diane brings up what went down in the park, she’ll insist she told Ashland that he was sorely mistake if he expected her help.
Once Diane gets updates on the restraining order, she’ll respect Kyle and Summer’s choice – though she’ll still admit to sympathizing with Ashland on some level.
Soon after, Amanda will show up and assume this is Kyle’s mother.
Diane will find out that Amanda is friends with Phyllis before Amanda joins Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) for coffee on the patio.
Amanda will talk to Elena about Imani and how she told her sister Nate was off-limits.
Although Elena will claim she doesn’t feel threatened, she’ll also be aware of Imani’s interest in Nate.
Amanda won’t think Imani would cross the line – and if she did, Amanda would rein her in.
Elena will think her real competition is Nate’s new job, but she’ll decide to embrace the ride since Nate’s never been happier.
When Amanda shows up at The Grand Phoenix later, she’ll find Imani gushing to Lily about Nate.
It won’t be long until the official meeting gets underway, so Devon, Nate, Amanda, Lily and Imani will all be there.
Imani will keep praising Nate for his brilliant ideas, so Amanda will pull her aside and warn her to ease up.
Amanda will remind Imani that Nate has a live-in girlfriend who he loves very much.
Imani won’t seem bothered by that and won’t be interested in Amanda’s opinion.
After Imani argues that they’re all adults and can make their own choices, Amanda will fire back that Imani should stop making bad ones.
Imani will point out that Amanda may be her boss and sister, but she’s not her conscience.
Once Imani tells Amanda to back off, she’ll rejoin Nate and offer to help with anything he needs.
Back at Crimson Lights, Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) will bump into Diane, Summer and Kyle.
Once Kyle and Summer decide head back to the Abbott house, Allie will agree to let Diane buy her a cup of coffee.
Diane will know she owes Allie an apology as well since she blindsided her and dumped a whole extended family on her.
Allie will act like it’s OK at first, but then she’ll decide it’s really not.
After Allie rants about Diane’s behavior being extremely self-serving, Diane will admit to going about everything the wrong way.
Diane will also acknowledge that she worked to get what she wanted, but she’ll still feel a sense of responsibility when it comes to Allie.
Although Allie will suggest she’d be more likely to ask the Abbotts for anything she needs, Diane won’t think Allie is the type to call attention to herself.
Allie will urge Diane not to take this the wrong way, but she’ll insist she can’t trust Diane – even though she’s not angry or upset with how things turned out.
Diane will understand, but she’ll also hope Allie might consider her a friend down the road.
At the Abbott house, Phyllis will act like her comment about marking her territory was just about getting Diane off her back.
Jack won’t buy that and will think the whole hotel incident was calculated, tawdry and hurtful.
Furthermore, Jack won’t see any way past all this unless Phyllis tells him the truth.
Phyllis will seem upset over Jack acting like their relationship is in jeopardy and will eventually spin things a bit.
Although Phyllis will suggest she was staking her claim and showing Diane they were still solid, Jack will think she proved the opposite.
From where Jack’s standing, it’ll seem like Phyllis used their romance as a convenient weapon against an old enemy.
Phyllis will insist what they have is real, but Jack will push her to confess why she changed her mind about being together.
After Phyllis rattles off a list of reasons, Jack still won’t be able to unhear what he heard earlier.
Since Phyllis kept Jack at a distance for months, he’ll know Diane prompted the change.
Phyllis won’t think it matters as long as they’re happy and will concede that maybe Diane helped her see what was right in front of her.
After Phyllis begs Jack not to give up on them now, she’ll argue that what they have is worth fighting for.
Jack will wonder if this fight involves Diane and will question if Phyllis means fighting for their relationship to spite her.
Phyllis will assure Jack that’s not the point she’s making at all, but their conversation will be cut short when Kyle and Summer walk in.
After Phyllis leaves in a hurry, Summer will take off after her.
That’ll leave Kyle to quiz Jack about what’s up, but Jack won’t have a chance to spill much before he takes a phone call.
Once Summer makes it to Phyllis’ suite, she’ll push her mom to come clean about what happened.
Phyllis will hold back at first, but she’ll ultimately admit something’s very wrong and will add that she screwed up.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis will have some work to do if she wants to make amends, so don’t miss what’s in store.
