The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 23, teases that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will be ready to leave town after Naya Benedict’s (Ptosha Storey) stroke – and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will prepare for a solo Hawaii trip. Here’s how Thursday’s drama-filled Y&R episode will play out.
In the park, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will warn Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) about Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) wanting him to investigate her time in Los Angeles.
After Michael suggests they should discuss the truth here and now, he’ll ask if Diane broke any laws or pulled any stunts while she was away.
However, Diane will insist she walked a very straight line and has nothing to hide.
Michael will insist he’s extremely accurate when he investigates, so he’ll hope that “Taylor Jensen” is being honest with him.
When Michael wonders whether Diane left a trail of broken hearts, she’ll claim she was busy working on herself and didn’t have the time or energy for romance.
Although Diane was a self-professed “fixer-upper” in LA, Michael will think she’s done the remodeling and should put herself back on the market.
When Elena runs into Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) as he’s going in his penthouse, she’ll realize he’s missing his tablet.
Elena will help Devon find it before getting a phone call that adds to her good mood, so Devon will quiz her about it.
Once Elena returns to her own penthouse and finds Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), she’ll mention being asked to speak at a last-minute medical convention in Hawaii.
Elena will hope that Nate can join her and work remotely, but he won’t be sure that’s a good idea since the merger just launched.
After Elena points out Devon already approved the idea, Nate will be upset over her mentioning it to him before they had a conversation.
It’ll be important for Nate to be taken seriously, so he won’t like his girlfriend going to his boss and asking for time off.
Elena will insist she didn’t plan on telling Devon, who pushed for info since she got the phone call in front of him.
In the end, Nate will assure Elena that they’ll take a real vacation together when the time is right, so they’ll kiss and move past the tension for now.
At Crimson Lights, Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) will give Amanda some bad news she just heard from her father.
Amanda will reel when she finds out Naya had a stroke, but she’ll be glad to know her mother is in stable condition.
Although the hospital won’t be allowing additional visitors right now, Imani will insist her dad’s going to keep them posted.
After Amanda cries over only finding her mom recently and watching her health get worse, Imani will push her sister to go spend some quality time with Naya.
Amanda will have concerns about leaving town so soon after the merger, but Imani will think she can handle any issues that might pop up.
Next, Amanda will hesitantly pitch the idea to Devon, but he’ll argue that they have a whole legal team to rely on and insist family comes first.
Devon will be completely on board with Amanda leaving town to visit Naya for a while.
Back at the coffeehouse, Elena will talk to the doctor covering her shifts over the phone.
As Imani eavesdrops, she’ll seem intrigued to learn that Elena will be flying solo on her trip to Hawaii.
At the Abbott house, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will admit to being a bit disappointed that he won’t be working alongside Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) anymore.
Nevertheless, Jack will accept Kyle’s decision to step down as his co-CEO and spread his wings by running Marchetti on his own.
Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will once again pump Jack for info about what really happened with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), but he’ll be evasive as usual.
Afterward, Summer will tell Kyle that she wants to know what Jack and Phyllis are hiding.
Kyle will think Summer needs to let this go, but she’ll worry that Phyllis might be plotting an attack.
When Jack finds Michael and Diane in the park, Michael will talk about their renewed friendship and how more people might enjoy her company if they were open-minded.
Once Jack sends Diane to hear Kyle’s exciting news, Michael will ask if there’s any chance Jack might come around on believing Diane has changed.
Jack will admit it’s possible and hope it’s true for Kyle’s sake, but he’ll think time will tell.
Phyllis will spy nearby until Jack leaves, so Michael will urge her to come out and stop skulking around like a stalker.
After some bickering about Diane, Phyllis will assure Michael that she knows exactly what she stands to lose because of Diane.
Michael will bring up Summer’s marriage to Kyle, who’s giving Diane an opportunity to make amends.
That’ll leave Michael wondering if Phyllis really wants to force Summer to choose between Kyle and her own mother.
Once Diane shows up at the Abbott mansion, she’ll find out about Kyle becoming Marchetti’s new CEO and will be thrilled for him.
Moments later, Summer will get a text from Phyllis that says to meet her at the Grand Phoenix and not tell anyone she’s back in town.
Summer will do as she’s told, but she’ll wonder about the need for secrecy when she makes it to Phyllis’ suite.
Phyllis will claim she just wanted some alone time with Summer and will get her talking about all the latest Marchetti details.
Summer will try grilling Phyllis about her latest drama with Diane and Jack, but Phyllis will argue that she just wants to hit the reset button – no harm, no foul.
If that’s true, Summer will insist Phyllis should come with her right now and face Diane.
After Summer urges Phyllis to prove she’s willing to move past the anger starting today, she’ll ask if her mom can do that.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Summer will really put Phyllis on the spot, so stay tuned.
