The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, September 1 Recap – Adam Faces Cruel Sally Decision – Diane & Talia’s Mind Games

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, September 1, teases that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will face a cruel Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) decision while Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Talia Morgan (Natalie Morales) play mind games.

At Newman Media, Sally will obsess over whether to keep a platform, but Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will think she’s really obsessing over Adam.

After Chloe pushes Sally to let go and accept she deserves better, Sally will take off to go do something.

Meanwhile, Adam will show up at Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) hotel suite and show off the art Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) made from a wood-burning kit at camp.

Chelsea will notice how Connor incorporated all their names and get Adam to agree she can keep the artwork.

After Adam admits he took Chelsea’s advice and accepted the Jabot job, he’ll want to help her, too.

Nevertheless, Chelsea will blow up at Adam since everyone keeps acting like she’s one step away from a breakdown.

Chelsea will want the chance to vent like everyone else, so Adam will eventually apologize for overstepping – though he’ll still seem concerned.

After Chelsea accepts Adam’s apology, he’ll leave to meet with Chloe following her urgent text.

Once Adam finds Chloe on the GCAC rooftop, she won’t be pleased to learn he was just having an intense conversation with Chelsea.

Chloe will ultimately rant about how Adam is messing with Sally’s head now that he’s admitted the truth about the breakup.

After Chloe pushes Adam to do one last act of kindness, she’ll urge him to break Sally’s heart.

Chloe will want Adam to make it clear to Sally that they have no future and be the “cruel, selfish, heartless bastard” that everyone knows him to be.

Although Adam won’t be sure he can do that, Chloe will keep pushing since it could tank Sally’s career if she doesn’t get over him.

Despite Adam’s reservations, Chloe will remind him that he’s done enough damage for a lifetime.

Back with Chelsea on Thursday’s Y&R episode, she’ll sit alone on her bed and flash back to moments when she felt rejected by Adam as well as Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

At Newman Enterprises, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will drop off an envelope for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) containing the loan he once gave her for The Grand Phoenix.

After Phyllis reflects on everything she accomplished, she’ll be ready to turn another dream into reality.

Phyllis will be happy for Nick’s success at the family company, even if she doesn’t agree with his decision to return to work there.

As for Phyllis’ decision to work at Marchetti, Nick will worry this is about Diane and warn Phyllis not to risk sticking it to her enemy.

Once Sally interrupts, Phyllis will run into Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) on the way out.

That’ll give Phyllis a chance to fill Nikki in on her recent meeting with Talia.

Back in the office, Sally will seek Nick’s opinion on whether she should keep a struggling platform.

Nick won’t get why Sally is second-guessing herself and will think she has what it takes to run Newman Media on her own.

Although Nick will assume this is really about Adam, Sally will decide to take a “no comment” approach on that and trust her instincts on the platform.

Before Sally leaves, she’ll assure Nick that her personal life won’t interfere with her job.

At Society, Diane will spot Talia at a table and recognize her as an investigative reporter from Los Angeles.

That’ll leave Diane curious about what’s brought Talia all the way to Genoa City, so Talia will lie about doing a story on Ashland.

Diane will play up how she knew Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and offer to share her thoughts, so Talia will act like it’s lucky that they met.

Talia will also talk about how she prides herself on being able to dig deep and find out what people are hiding.

Diane will mention how Ashland raised Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) early on and will subtly get quizzed about why she came to Genoa City.

Talia will suggest she’s just trying to nail down the timeline, but she’ll obviously be pumping Diane for information.

However, Diane will do the same as she tries to figure out Talia’s angle.

Once Nikki and Phyllis arrive, they’ll pretend to meet Talia for the first time and feign surprise over her Ashland digging.

After Phyllis argues that Diane isn’t a reliable source, Nikki will back her up.

When Nikki works Diane’s miraculous return from the dead into the conversation, Talia will note that it sounds like a juicy story.

Diane will refuse to let Nikki and Phyllis goad her into a meltdown, so she’ll apologize to Talia for their behavior – and to her two rivals for not giving them what they want.

Once Diane saunters out, Talia will assure Phyllis and Nikki that she has a lot of experience dealing with people like Diane.

After Talia talks about applying the right pressure and pushing the right buttons, Phyllis will seem excited about Diane’s downfall.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nikki and Phyllis’ plan will take a wrong turn soon, so stay tuned.
