The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Tuesday, January 18, tease that Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will shock Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) while Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) leans on Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case). Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will also receive a hurtful reminder, so here’s what Y&R has coming up.
For starters, Nick will once again use Sharon as his confidant. Sharon is always glad to listen and offer advice, which Nick appreciates since Sharon knows him so well.
These two are incredibly comfortable with each other and can open up about just about anything.
That could tie in with a difficult reminder that’s on the way for Phyllis. Nick will somehow bring back a painful memory for his former flame, so Phyllis might witness Nick and Sharon’s easy chat.
It might make Phyllis miss when she used to be able to talk to Nick like that – or perhaps make her question if she’s ever really known Nick the way Sharon knows him.
Phyllis knows the breakup was for the best, but she can still mourn the loss of “Phick” and maybe even be a little jealous of his bond with Sharon.
Of course, there could be some other way to remind Phyllis of her pain. Nick might send a bittersweet memento he stumbled across or something along those lines.
The point is Phyllis will struggle a bit as she continues trying to move on.
Over with Tessa, she’ll do something that definitely catches Noah off guard.
It’s possible Tessa will want to clear the air about any more than friendly feelings Noah might have.
Tessa might subtly shut Noah down by reminding him that they’re pals – and that’s the way it should be.
However, Tessa seems keen on ignoring the heart eyes Noah’s been giving her despite her apparent discomfort. She may continue to do so and shock Noah with marriage proposal plans instead.
Tessa plans to pop the question to Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) later in the week, so she might fill Noah in and ask him to keep the secret.
That might actually be the best tactic possible to shut Noah down since she’s taking such a big step with Mariah.
In the meantime, Mariah will talk to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) about his shared custody intentions.
Since Mariah and Devon will end up having a strategy session, he may get her on his side when it comes to worrying about Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) psychological state.
Mariah may decide Devon is just trying to put Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) first and understand his perspective.
At the same time, Mariah will really hope Devon, Chance and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) can avoid a nasty battle in court.
Finally, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will find Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) in a rather compromising situation.
Since Ashland seems to be faking his terminal illness and the recovery that’s followed, Nikki might get a big clue about that on Tuesday’s exciting episode.
