The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 19, reveals that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will hint at an alarming Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) warning while Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) emotional outburst seems poised to change her CEO fate.
In Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) office, she’ll talk to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about the Sally situation.
Victoria will suggest they’re in agreement about cutting Sally loose, so Nikki will leave the two of them to break the bad news.
Meanwhile, Adam will stop Sally from hugging him when he meets up with her at Newman Media.
After Adam admits he never went to Chicago, he’ll argue that he needed time alone and is now questioning everything he did since he came back to Genoa City.
Adam will declare that Sally is the reason he’s on the outside – that she’s standing between him and everything that he wants.
Of course, that won’t make any sense to Sally, but Adam will rattle off a bunch of reasons why she caused him to lose Victor’s respect.
Sally will ask why Adam’s being so cruel and will think it was impossible to fake the love they shared.
Adam will counter that he didn’t love Sally enough, but it’ll dawn on her that this might be some insane scheme to protect her CEO job.
After Sally insists that Adam matters more to her, she’ll push him to drop this pointless act.
Adam will stick to the lie anyway and make it clear that they’re done.
Sally will think everyone was right about Adam being a “self-serving bastard,” but he’ll suggest that at least she scored a CEO job if she can hang onto it.
Once Sally tells Adam to “go to hell,” he’ll walk out the door and look distraught.
Once Adam runs into Nick and Victoria in the hallway, he’ll note that Sally is having a hard time accepting that things are over.
Adam won’t think Sally should have to lose her job too and will defend her as someone who should be given a chance.
When Victoria and Nick walk in Sally’s office, they’ll see that she’s been crying.
Sally will guess this is the part where they tell her it’s not working out, so she’ll start ranting about all the work she’s been putting into Newman Media.
After Sally has an emotional outburst that includes her detailed company outlook, she’ll push Nick and Victoria to just get this over with.
The Newman siblings will seem rather taken aback over Sally’s meltdown, but Nick will speak to Victoria alone.
After Nick admits the speech was impressive, he’ll praise Sally’s vision and urge Victoria to see that it’s exactly what they’re looking for.
At Crimson Lights, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will try to chat with Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) again, but Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) will make up an excuse and whisk her away.
Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will notice nearby, so she’ll corner Phyllis and suggest that trying to use Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) granddaughter isn’t a good look.
That’ll lead to some bickering, but Diane will think Phyllis needs to accept that she’s a permanent fixture around there.
Phyllis will argue that things don’t last forever, so Diane will ask if that’s a threat.
Once Phyllis claims it’s an observation, Nikki will appear and join Phyllis in taunting Diane.
At the Abbott house, Noah will share a warm moment with Allie before pulling her into a kiss, which she’ll happily reciprocate.
Next on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will get Jack to confess what happened with Phyllis and will surprise him by pushing for forgiveness.
Ashley will act like Jack’s feelings for Diane are more complicated than he’s willing to admit.
Plus, Ashley will understand how Diane can bring out the worst in someone.
Afterward, Ashley will join Nikki and Phyllis in ganging up on Diane at the coffeehouse.
Once Diane exits, Nikki will declare that something has to be done about that woman.
That’ll be something the three of them can agree on, so Nikki, Ashley and Phyllis will discuss pooling their talents to get rid of Diane forever.
Adam won’t be in the mood for company when Jack approaches him at Society’s bar, but Jack will take a seat anyway.
After Adam talks about wising up to Victor and how he changes the rules of the game, he’ll act like there’s no coming back this time.
Jack will warn Adam not to surrender to his worst impulses, but Adam will insist it’d be pointless to go after Victor.
As Adam says he’s the last person that Victor needs to worry about, Y&R will show Ashland sitting in his jail cell looking vengeful.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Ashland will make some bold moves soon, so stay stick with us for updates on his payback strategy.
