The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, May 31, teases that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) unsolved cases will lead to Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) problem. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will also reflect on some warm memories, so here’s what Y&R has in store.
Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) has already been pretty slammed at work now that his partner’s gone.
Abby has been understanding so far, but that could change as Chance makes it his mission to solve all the open cases Rey left behind.
For Chance, this will be a way to honor Rey – and it’ll help him continue to deal with his trauma by throwing himself into a goal.
However, Abby fret over Chance becoming too work obsessed and fear it’ll have a negative impact on their family.
Abby isn’t the type to hold Chance back, so she won’t directly convey her concerns.
Even so, Chance may have a hunch that Abby’s worried and argue there’s no need to be.
Chance will promise to tackle these cases, but he may also vow to keep giving Abby and Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) the attention they need.
Meanwhile, Nick will check in with Sharon and see how she’s holding up.
Sharon may admit she got stressed out over a run-in with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman), but she might also confess that it felt good to rip into him.
Of course, Nick may wish he was there to see it! Since Nick hates Ashland’s guts, he’ll have no qualms about Sharon putting the guy on full blast.
Nick’s only concern will be for Sharon’s well-being, so he may hope Ashland didn’t add to her distress over Rey’s death.
Sharon will keep trying to find ways to carry on without her husband, so Nick will be a huge help.
Tuesday’s episode will bring some special “Shick” reminiscing, so look for Sharon and Nick to remember their rich past together.
If the show throws in a flashback or two, that’d be an excellent way to honor this couple’s powerful history.
Sharon is nowhere near ready for another romance yet, but she’ll keep inching closer to Nick and closer to their inevitable romantic reunion.
Meanwhile, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will deal with some exploding tension.
Nate may revisit his launch party suggestion or even make another one that Devon vetoes immediately.
It’s easy to imagine Nate’s thoughts drifting back to Imani Benedict’s (Leigh-Ann Rose) words.
Imani hinted that perhaps Devon still had a chip on his shoulder over the Elena Dawson (Bryton James) cheating scandal.
Whether Nate brings up that possibility or not, there’s going to be some work conflict that could highlight some deeper issues.
This could be the beginning of a revived Nate and Devon feud, especially with Imani orchestrating things to get what she wants.
Naturally, what Imani wants is to make Nate her man! Elena will do her best to stand in the way, but will her efforts be enough this summer?
