The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) may get arrested after Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) murder. Will Victor take the fall for another Newman once Ashland’s body is discovered?
There’s been a lot of talk lately about how Victor landed behind bars when Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was killed off.
Of course, we now know Diane faked her death with Deacon Sharpe’s (Sean Kanan) help, but the fact remains that Victor was willing to go down for murder to protect Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).
There have been other times when Victor was willing to make a big sacrifice for Nikki as well – like when Victor got arrested over JT Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) murder and faced a similar scenario.
The point is that Victor’s been known to lie about his own guilt to protect the people he loves.
That’s particularly true when it comes to Victor’s beloved Nikki, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and would have a rough time doing a prison sentence.
Y&R spoilers say Nikki will be pushed to her breaking point during the week of May 23-27.
That could leave Nikki on the verge of snapping and at least make her seem capable of murder.
Is this building to a storyline where Victor takes the fall for Nikki or another member of the Newman family?
Victor should be a suspect once Ashland’s murder mystery inevitably plays out, so he might use that to his advantage and try to set himself up.
You can bet Victor would much rather take Nikki’s place in prison if it comes down to it.
We could also imagine Victor trying to protect Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) or even Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
It’s doubtful any of them will be genuinely guilty, but that doesn’t matter if the cops think they are.
If Victor sees no other way to protect the people he cares about, he’ll likely try to take responsibility for Ashland’s murder.
A dead Ashland whodunit still seems poised to happen, so we’ll pass along updates as other Y&R news rolls in.
