The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will threaten to leave the Newman family. Adam will contemplate cutting ties after Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) betrayal, so here’s what Y&R fans can expect.
During the week of May 2-6, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will pull off a sneaky move and deliver quite a blow to Adam.
Since Adam worked hard to find an Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) solution and prove he could rise to the challenge as temporary CEO, he was hoping to be rewarded.
Instead, Victoria will knock Adam right off the throne and send him back to running lowly Newman Media.
Victoria will reclaim her role as the co-CEO of Newman-Locke, which will ultimately revert back to Newman Enterprises once all the legal details get sorted out.
To appease Victor and help Victoria handle the extra stress right now, she’ll appoint Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) as her co-CEO.
When Victor backs up Victoria’s decision, Adam will think it’s clear where his father’s loyalty lies.
It’ll be hard for Adam, who just wants Victor’s approval and a little respect.
In the aftermath of Victoria’s decision and Victor’s betrayal through his endorsement, Adam will consider leaving the Newman family behind.
We’ll see Adam get frustrated enough to contemplate cutting ties – and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) may support him on this if he really wants a fresh start away from the Newman clan.
However, Sally might also point out that Adam isn’t a quitter and has been in similar situations before.
Adam can’t really be surprised that he’s being treated this way considering the treatment he’s received in the past, now can he?
Leaving the family over a move as typical as this seems extreme.
Sally may think Adam would be better off proving he’s the superior Newman and working on a long-game strategy to take Victoria’s place.
Whatever the case, Adam should ultimately ditch the idea of disowning the Newmans like he’s done in the past.
Sally will continue to be Adam’s rock and may help him see a different path forward that could end in success.
