The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, August 3 Recap – Sally’s News Story Exposes Nick – Ashland’s Funeral Arrangements

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 3, reveals that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will score a news story to expose Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) while Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) funeral arrangements become a topic of conversation elsewhere.

At Society, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will try to help Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) talk things out following their disagreement.

Nate will be in an even worse mood due to all the reporters asking for a comment from Ashland’s best man.

Since Nate was an unwitting accomplice in Ashland’s cancer scam, he’ll worry about that getting out and causing problems for Chancellor-Winters.

Amanda will downplay that possibility before talk turns to Nate asking Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) about Elena Dawson’s (Brytni Sarpy) contact.

The fact that Nate spoke to Imani personally will bother Amanda, but he’ll insist he was already in touch about her mother’s rehab facility and simply asked about the contract, too.

As Devon and Nate try to resolve some of their issues, Amanda will give them some privacy.

Unfortunately, Devon’s questions will seem like micromanaging to Nate, who’ll complain when Devon insists the idea of a mentor or media training isn’t a bad one.

Devon will also suspect that Nate is overreacting because he’s second-guessing this career change.

In the end, Nate will decide to bail on this conversation entirely and just go spend some time with Elena.

Later, Devon will talk to Amanda about throwing Nate into the business world too fast.

All the tension will leave Devon wondering if he’ll ever be able to have the cohesive family business he wanted.

On the GCAC rooftop, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will talk to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) about Ashland and how no one has stepped forward to claim the body.

That’ll leave Summer thinking she might have to arrange the funeral with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) for Harrison Abbott’s (Kellen Enriquez) sake.

Phyllis will mention it being like Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) funeral where no tears were shed.

After Phyllis takes a jab about Diane’s funeral not even being necessary, Summer will quiz her mom about the earlier run-in at the park.

Phyllis will do her best to dodge Summer’s questions about Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and focus on her Marchetti opportunity.

Summer will admit it hasn’t been the right time to talk to Kyle, but she’ll plan to pitch Phyllis’ position soon.

That said, Summer will know Kyle’s going to have concerns about Phyllis and Diane’s feud.

Phyllis will act like she’d never jeopardize her relationship with Summer and will hide the fact that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is texting about Diane’s takedown.

At Newman Media on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will give Sally updates on what she learned from Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart).

Sally will find out the fight Nick mentioned was a physical one after Chloe reveals the punch before the car accident.

The whole thing will seem suspicious to Sally since the cops didn’t release anything beyond the crash info.

Sally will hint about wanting to put this story out there, so Chloe will remind her to be careful before she exits.

Next, Sally will text Nick hoping to talk about Ashland’s story and the fight at Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) house.

In the park, Nick will open up to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) about feeling responsible for Ashland’s death.

Sharon will agree it’s entirely possible Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is pulling strings and will mention how he covered for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) when he killed that man on the farm.

Nick will argue that he isn’t a scared little boy, so he’ll refuse to let history repeat itself.

After Nick insists the truth always comes out, he’ll worry about Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) suspicions and head off to deal with more drama.

At Newman Media again, Nick will confront Sally about her text.

Sally will hint at her reliable sources and pump Nick for info now that she knows about the physical confrontation.

Nick will admit Ashland got violent with Victoria, so he had to step in. Sally will understand that and wonder if Ashland drove off to avoid a worse fight.

Nick will acknowledge that’s not exactly what played out, so Sally will think things are getting murky.

After Nick says he has no idea how the crash happened, Sally will suggest they should take these facts and report them.

That way, Newman Media can beat all the other news outlets to the punch.

Nick will advise against it since it’d mean more torture for Victoria. However, Sally will think they have a chance to out-scoop everyone.

Plus, not covering the story would make Newman Media look incompetent or like they’re covering something up.

Nick will finally decide he’s leaving the story in Sally’s hands, so he’ll ask what she’s going to do with it.

At Crimson Lights, Nate will grab two coffees to-go and text Elena that he’s on his way home.

While Nate’s putting creamer in the cups, Imani will call hoping to chat while Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) is sleeping.

Nate will smile as he agrees to entertain Imani over the phone, so he’ll sit down and forget all about Elena’s abandoned coffee cup nearby.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nate could be headed into dangerous territory with all this Imani bonding!
