The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, February 9 Recap – Ashland Sticks To Crooked Plan – Sally & Billy Face Off

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 9, teases that Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) will stick to the plan after a shady phone call. Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will also face off, so let’s discuss what’s coming up on Wednesday’s Y&R episode.

At Society, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will have a working lunch with Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle), who’ll dodge questions about Newman Media for now.

Victoria will want to talk to Ashland first since he’s stronger now and quite interested in how this merger will play out.

Nikki will express concern over Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), so Victoria will assure her mom that she shares those concerns along with Ashland.

They’ll definitely want to keep a close eye on Adam.

In Victoria’s office, Adam and Ashland will have a tense conversation.

Ashland will point out that he’s in charge of Newman Media with Victoria.

Ashland will insist they’re going to be charting the company’s course and will suggest that Adam should move on if he’s not comfortable with that.

Adam won’t get why Ashland is taking this tone with him, but Ashland will act like he just wanted to clarify things.

Ashland will argue that any insubordination or challenge to authority would be a major mistake – one that will not be tolerated.

Adam will point out that Ashland is talking like he’s an equal partner at Newman-Locke.

After Ashland confirms that’s exactly what he is, he’ll note that the world doesn’t revolve around Adam – and neither does Newman Media.

Adam will look forward to proving Ashland wrong, but Ashland will suggest that they’ll see about that.

When Victoria interrupts and wonders what’s going, Adam and Ashland will downplay their quarrel.

Adam will admit he’s hired Sally as his COO, so Victoria will balk initially.

Victoria will note that Sally is a fashion designer and will remind Adam of what Sally did to Summer Newman-Abbott (Hunter King).

Adam will argue that Sally can hold her own against the big boys and will feel like she deserves this chance.

Victoria will end up caving in rather quickly – though she’ll insist Adam will have to train and mentor Sally himself.

Once Ashland is alone with Victoria, he’ll wonder if she’s really OK with Sally being in the COO role.

Victoria will gleefully mention Sally’s tendency to be opportunistic and reckless. She’ll think those are traits that’ll work to their advantage over time.

At the ranch, Victor will get a text from Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), who’ll admit that Ashland’s name opens doors at the clinic in Peru.

Michael will note that Ashland’s financial ties to the clinic are unconfirmed at this point, so Victor will text back that Michael should stay on it.

After Victor calls Ashland and summons him for a one-on-one meeting, Nikki will quiz her husband about the reason why.

Victor will warn Nikki not to breathe a word to Victoria, but he’ll admit Ashland has been sending money to that Peruvian clinic for years.

Nikki will think Victor means charitable donations, but Victor will counter that there’s nothing charitable about it.

Victor will insist Ashland’s involved in a tax-dodging scheme and will be eager to fish for more info.

After Ashland arrives, he’ll share a drink with Victor and face clinic questions. Ashland will admit he was a benefactor long before he got sick.

Ashland will talk about saving the clinic during a financial crisis after a colleague became ill and had success there.

Ashland will act like his accountant had to get creative with shell corporations due to international law.

As for why Ashland never mentioned any of this to Victoria, he’ll point out it was technically unethical since he jumped to the head of the treatment line.

Ashland will suggest Victoria already had so much to worry about, so he didn’t want her thinking this would be another obstacle.

Victor will agree about protecting Victoria, but he’ll voice his worries to Nikki later. Since Ashland’s answers were too polished, that’ll trouble Victor.

Meanwhile, Ashland will take his tie off at Society’s bar. He’ll seem stressed as he answers a phone call regarding an American asking questions about him in Peru.

Ashland will insist this doesn’t change anything and warn the person on the other end to stick to the plan.

As for Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), she’ll get Nikki’s advice about Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) and what guidance she would’ve had.

Nikki will suggest that Katherine always liked to shake things up and would tell Lily to have fun running Chancellor Industries.

At Crimson Lights, Billy will cross paths with Sally and rehash her role as Adam’s spy.

When Sally reveals she’s the new COO of Newman Media, Billy won’t be pleased.

Sally will gloat over them having the same job, but Billy will act like Sally only got it because she’s willing to stoop to whatever level Adam wants.

Sally will complain about Billy playing the victim after trying to entrap them.

Sally will think Billy should just be happy everything worked out, but Billy obviously won’t be.

That said, Billy will know how Victoria feels about Adam and won’t think this little situation will last long.

At home, Lily will fret over an executive jumping ship and will want to make sure she measures up to the leaders of the past.

Billy will give Lily a pep talk and urge her to be herself. He’ll assure Lily that he’s a team player and once again shut down any concerns about his insomnia.

Finally, Adam will fake Sally out by making her think he’s got bad news.

Sally will believe Victoria must’ve shut Adam down, but Adam will ultimately relent and admit Sally is the new COO.

After Sally grins over Adam’s updates, she’ll scold him for tricking her.

Adam will guess maybe he figured Sally would jump into his arms like before, but she’ll remind him that they agreed to pump the brakes.

After Adam suggests Sally should just forget he said anything, she’ll tell him it’s forgotten.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally and Adam’s working relationship could become too hot to handle soon, so stay tuned to Y&R!
