The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, May 25 Recap – Ashland’s Apology Enrages Victor – Summer Questions Phyllis’ Motives

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 25, reveals that Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will question Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) motives while Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) apology enrages Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

In the park on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will hang around hoping she’ll get lucky and run into Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) with Summer and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) again.

Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will bump into Diane instead and explain that Summer signed Harrison up for a children’s musical activity that’s keeping him busy today.

After Traci offers advice about taking solace in the young man Kyle has become, Diane will vow to respect whatever he decides.

Since Traci was willing to talk, Diane will offer her gratitude – though Traci will point out that Diane has a lot to make up for.

At The Grand Phoenix, Summer will chat with Phyllis in the lobby and get the feeling that she’s quite protective of Jack.

Phyllis will confess she might be more than friends with Jack these days, so Summer will tease her mom about sleeping with her father-in law.

However, Summer will think Phyllis deserves this and will offer a hug over the positive updates.

There’ll also be talk about Diane’s skills when it comes to psychological warfare before Phyllis gets all worked up.

Summer will worry Phyllis could self-sabotage and will question Phyllis motives for getting back together with Jack.

After Summer asks if this is a jealousy thing, Phyllis will argue that she’d never use Jack and will insist this has nothing to do with Diane.

Once Phyllis proposes a subject change, they’ll try Marchetti – though Summer won’t say much other than it’s probably good that her mom didn’t accept the offer to come work in Milan.

The conversation will shift to Harrison, so Summer will hint about not knowing how to explain the whole Ashland thing to him.

It’ll be obvious based on Phyllis’ reaction that she doesn’t know Ashland’s cancer was a hoax, so Summer will fill her in.

Phyllis will think Ashland and Diane are a lot for Summer and Kyle to juggle at the same time.

Summer will contend that they’ve got this, but Phyllis won’t think her daughter knows who she’s dealing with.

Nevertheless, Summer will assure Phyllis that she’s not underestimating Diane.

If anything, Summer will think Diane is underestimating her!

After Summer rants about Diane being a narcissist, she’ll refuse to let her mother-in-law hurt Harrison like she hurt Kyle.

At the Abbott house, Kyle will quiz Jack until he gets his dad to admit he’s testing the waters with Phyllis.

Jack will wonder about the timing of Phyllis’ sudden change of heart – namely whether it was a coincidence that it happened when Diane returned.

As Jack continues to fret, he’ll consider the idea that Phyllis is subconsciously telling Diane there’s nothing for her in Genoa City if she sticks around.

Jack will insist nothing would ever happen with Diane, but he’ll point out how competitive she is with Phyllis.

In the end, Jack will assure Kyle that he knows how Phyllis feels about him.

There’ll be talk about how clear Phyllis made it, but Kyle will think they’re getting dangerously close to the TMI line.

Once talk turns to Diane, Jack will think it seems like Kyle’s trying to justify giving her a second chance.

Kyle will also rant about how he won’t stand for Harrison being Ashland’s backup family after he’s destroyed everything else in his life.

After Jack and Kyle check out some positive Jabot numbers, Kyle will hint about an expansion project before Traci appears.

That’ll lead to Traci recapping her encounter with Diane in the park and how she suggested Kyle needed more time.

Kyle will worry about dragging this out, but Jack will urge his son not to put Diane’s needs first.

At Society, Ashland will interrupt as Victor, Victoria and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) are wrapping up a business meeting ahead of the spa trip.

After Nikki and Victoria take off, Ashland will insist he owes Victor an apology.

Although Ashland will be sorry over his despicable lie and for realizing too late that he needed to treasure Victoria, Victor won’t be moved.

Victor will warn that Victoria won’t forgive Ashland and will feel like she’s just as tired of his glib attempts to make amends.

When Ashland tries to compare himself to Victor through their miserable childhoods and many mistakes, Victor will shut him down.

Ashland will remind Victor that Victoria loves him, but Victor will think that’s “loved” in the past tense!

Victor will contend that he’ll never forgive Ashland for lying and breaking his daughter’s heart.

Once Victor warns Ashland to “get the hell out of town or else,” Ashland will think that sounds like a threat.

Victor will snap that it’s a guarantee and will vow to do everything in his power to protect his family.

Before Victor heads out, he’ll tell Ashland not to push him to that point.

At Crimson Lights, Nikki will seethe when she realizes Diane is still in town.

It won’t be long until hostility erupts since Nikki will accuse Diane of being after Kyle’s bank account.

Nikki will call Diane a “professional gold digger” and will think she’s hoping to con her way into the Abbott fortune.

After Nikki suggests Kyle will see right through Diane, she’ll add that he’ll probably tell Diane to her face that he was better off when she was dead.

That’ll send Diane flying into a rage as she slaps Nikki, who’ll slap her in response.

Diane will lunge toward Nikki in attack mode, but Victoria will break up the physical altercation.

Once Victoria marvels at the sight of Diane alive, Nikki will admit they didn’t want to burden her with the news “that bitch” wasn’t six feet under.

Diane will congratulate Victoria on her success since she followed her career from afar, but Victoria will urge her to save the phony praise.

Victoria will try to drag Nikki off for their flight, but Nikki will snarl a warning as she goes.

With Diane glaring at her, Nikki will push her enemy to go back to the grave she crawled out of and stay there.

Diane will sigh in frustration as Nikki and Victoria depart, but she’ll look up to see Victor looking irritated in the patio doorway.

Victor is ready to unleash his wrath once again, so stay tuned to Y&R!
