The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of January 17-21 tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will strike a deal while Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) gets busted. Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) legacy will also be at stake, so let’s talk about what’s coming up.
First, Victor will feel the need to protect his legacy. He’ll turn to Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) for help with that, but will this case involve the business world or a more personal matter?
It’s possible Victor will recruit Michael for the brewing custody battle since Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) is indeed part of the Newman family legacy. Regardless, there’ll indeed be plenty of custody drama going on.
Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will voice his fears about Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) mental state and his inability to be a good father to Dominic right now.
Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will have a big problem with Devon seeking shared custody in court, but he’ll force her to accept the reality of the situation.
Later, Devon will have a strategy session with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), so it sounds like he’ll get her on his side through his concerns for Dominic’s well-being.
Elsewhere, Abby will turn to Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) for help protecting her family.
They’ll no doubt try to anticipate Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) legal moves and craft a strategy to defend the sperm donor contract.
Next, Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) will make another cold and calculated move against Adam.
Adam will find himself questioning Victoria’s true agenda and may confront her about why she’s set out to destroy him now.
As for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), she’ll stumble across some compromising situation involving Ashland.
Nikki will catch Ashland doing something he shouldn’t be doing, so this could set the stage for a big secret to be uncovered.
Ashland is still hiding something he should’ve told Victoria before they tied the knot, so that shocker’s going to cause serious issues eventually.
If Ashland was never deathly ill and is faking this miraculous recovery, Nikki may see the first signs of deception.
Other Y&R spoilers say Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will face some painful memories.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will give Phyllis some sort of reminder, so that’ll bring back the sting of losing what they once had.
Back with Adam, he’ll reach an agreement with Billy.
Adam and Billy will strike a deal, but they’ll have to proceed with caution since they obviously don’t trust each other!
Whether this involves a real truce or something more, trouble could still be looming.
In the meantime, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will tackle her first official day running Chancellor Industries.
Lily may be a bit nervous and overwhelmed, but she should prove she’s up for the challenge.
As for Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), she’ll scheme against Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and hope to get her out of the picture for good.
Over with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), she’ll have a romantic surprise in store for Mariah.
Tessa will work hard to impress her girlfriend, who just might become her fiancée soon enough.
This might be a good opportunity for Tessa to propose and click another piece of their future in place, especially since she’s planning a family with Mariah now.
Whatever the case, Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) will be busy offering an explanation to Nick.
That could involve Noah’s love life, but it could also involve his decision to turn down Nick’s New Hope job and stick with his new projects at Newman Media.
