The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap review for the week of October 17-21 reveals that ice queen Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) did some plotting while Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) told how her dream became a nightmare.
For starters, let’s talk about Victoria’s big idea.
Since Victoria needs a position for Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) at Newman Enterprises, she wants to fire Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and let Nate take her place as Newman Media’s CEO.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) brought up some great points as he objected to Victoria’s plan.
Nate just proved how flexible his loyalties are, so why would Victoria want that kind of liability on her team?
If Nate would try to screw over his own family, he would certainly do the same to Victoria if given the chance.
The fact that Nate changed his mind so abruptly doesn’t make him like someone levelheaded enough to be CEO either.
Nick also pointed out Nate is a former doctor and doesn’t really have any more experience than Sally.
Victoria tried to play it off like Nate’s education alone made him a more viable candidate, but we’re not buying that.
It’s clear that Victoria is just being her usual ice queen self – and Sally will be the one to suffer this time since Victoria’s plan will move forward soon.
As for Diane, she finally told Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) the truth about her time in Los Angeles.
Sometimes it can feel a little tedious when Y&R does these elaborate backstories and takes an episode to dump a bunch of info on viewers.
Ashland Locke (Richard Newman) previously told tales that were most dull and fell flat.
However, Diane’s story was actually pretty fun since they included flashbacks with Jeremy Stark (James Hyde).
That made Diane’s story more entertaining – not to mention it proved that she’s being honest for once.
Fans learned that Diane fell hard for Jeremy and thought she finally had a rich man to take care of her.
Instead, that dream became a nightmare since Jeremy was just using Diane as a money-laundering drug mule.
Diane managed to avoid prison, but Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) uncovered evidence that could still send her to the slammer – and that meant she was once again facing a blackmail threat.
Susan Walters delivered a fantastic performance as usual and offered more proof that it was a great decision to bring Diane back to the show.
Love her or hate her, Diane is a fascinating character who always brings drama!
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will face more backlash over her LA secrets, so stay tuned.
