The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap review for the week of October 31-November 4 reveals that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) set himself up with some self-sabotage while Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was the faux villain. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) was also shut out of an important situation, so let’s talk about how some exciting Y&R episodes played out.
For starters, Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson) and Jason Thompson had some amazing scenes together as Billy rescued Chelsea from a decision that would’ve ended her life. Billy really stepped up for Chelsea when she needed him most.
However, it was sad to see Adam shut out of everything when he’s already been trying hard to help. Adam is Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) father and had a right to be kept in the loop – for his son’s sake if nothing else.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) also played a pivotal role, but we’d really like to see her branch out with a real storyline. It feels like Sharon is constantly dishing out advice and helping with other people’s drama instead of facing her own.
As for Billy, he’s in a tight spot since Chelsea obviously needs him right now. At the same time, Billy is doing what he does best and self-sabotaging.
Doesn’t it seem like Billy always ends up right back here – looking for some new career path and saving some damsel in distress? Billy has a pattern that never ends well, so it’s probably not going to end well with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) either!
We should also discuss Diane, who’s become the faux villain of Genoa City. Diane has made big mistakes and was no doubt quite the vixen once upon a time, but what exactly makes her so despicable now?
It’s true that Diane kept quiet about the money laundering drama she got caught up in along with Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) blackmail. None of that was really Diane’s fault and doesn’t change her love for Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) or Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez).
Diane can also be manipulative at times, but her goals haven’t been nefarious. Phyllis is the one who’s provoked Diane constantly and made it her life’s mission to destroy this woman.
It might be easier to view Diane as the villain if she was actually doing something threatening, but she’s been busy trying to dodge all the attacks on her from Phyllis, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Talia Morgan (Natalie Morales).
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was right when he urged Phyllis to take a look in the mirror! Phyllis seems like far more of a villain in this scenario, especially since she lied and plotted just as much as Diane did.
As other Y&R news pops up, we’ll bring you updates. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will earn Kyle’s forgiveness soon, but more trouble could be just around the corner. CDL’s where you want to be for the hottest Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news, so stick with us.
