The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that we have to ask: Will Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) fake his death as a final scam? Could this become another job for Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan)?
Y&R fans know there’s been a lot of talk about how Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) faked her death lately.
Deacon’s name has been mentioned repeatedly since Diane couldn’t have done it without him.
Of course, there’s also been talk about how much destruction Diane caused with her scheme.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) is furious over the chain reaction of chaos that Diane brought upon her family.
The Newmans could face a similar nightmare if Ashland decides to fake his death and lands at the center of a murder mystery.
Since Ashland is such a scammer, wouldn’t that be a fitting way for him to go? Scamming even on his way out of town?
It’s not like Ashland hasn’t faked his death before!
We can’t forget that Ashland is actually Bobby DeFranco, who pretended to die and took his best friend’s identity all those years ago.
The show just revisited that storyline in a way by having Ashland save Victoria from a burning car.
Ashland was able to do what he couldn’t do for the real Ashland back then.
The past is now on Ashland’s mind and might’ve sparked the idea of faking his death – that is if his Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) reunion dreams don’t pan out.
Ashland even tells Nikki that nothing short of murder will get rid of him in the April 26 episode.
That almost sounds like something a person planning to fake their death and frame someone for it might say.
Y&R just killed off Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), so it seems kind of weird to kill Ashland off so soon after.
They could get around another gruesome outcome if Ashland isn’t truly dead in the end.
Ashland would surely love to get the last laugh on the Newmans by faking his demise and setting them up.
Now that Ashland is staying at The Grand Phoenix, there’s even a chance he could hear something about Diane’s fiasco and the help she got from Deacon.
That’d be a great way to bring Deacon back into this if they wanted him to soap hop over from The Bold and the Beautiful.
Regardless, there’s the potential for an Ashland murder mystery that’s staged – just like we’ve been hearing about through Diane’s storyline.
