The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Will Diane Be Framed for Ashland’s Murder – Newmans Get Rid of Two Problems at Once?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that we have to ask: Will Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) be framed for Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) murder? The Newmans might get rid of two problems at once – or at least try to if they capitalize on some sudden opportunities.

Of course, it’s possible Y&R has shifted gears and is opting not to kill Ashland off.

However, it’s equally possible they just want to let the maximum drama play out first.

There’s no point in having Ashland turn up dead until the story has gone all the places it can go.

Since there’s still gas left in the tank, we’re not surprised Ashland is hanging around and causing trouble right now.

Even so, we have to consider the words Ashland himself said back on the April 26 episode.

“You’re not going to be able to get rid of me – short of murder – so I would suggest you get used to seeing my face around here,” Ashland warned Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

If a character insists killing them is the only way to get rid of them, that character is probably going to die!

There’s no reason for the writers to give Ashland such an extreme, ominous line otherwise.

Let’s assume that Ashland has essentially predicted his own murder.

The Newmans are certainly going to be major suspects, so Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) might want someone to pin the crime on.

It’d be quite the twist of fate if Diane was framed for Ashland’s murder.

When it was believed that Nikki killed Diane, Victor tried to take the fall for her.

Plenty of other characters got dragged into that story and faced murder accusations as well.

We now know Diane wasn’t dead, but she hasn’t really paid the price for her actions.

Diane has been roaming around insisting that she’s changed, but Victor, Nikki and others would no doubt love a good dose of revenge.

Based on the upcoming May 30 episode, Diane will get to know Ashland a bit better and grow fond of him.

These two will relate to each other and share a judgment-free zone that they can’t find anywhere else.

It’d be easy for Victor to make Diane look like a jilted lover once Ashland and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) reunite.

Victoria will be willing to cut ties and embrace a fresh start with Ashland, so Victor could plant evidence that makes Diane look vindictive after his death.

Perhaps it could seem like Diane had her own secret romance with Ashland going on. It might also look like Diane killed Ashland in a jealous crime of passion!

Regardless of who actually kills Ashland, Victor may fear one of the Newmans will go down for it.

Perhaps Victor will see the opportunity to get rid of Diane by letting her take the blame for a murder she didn’t commit.

Suspicion would be off the Newmans, Diane would be headed to prison and Ashland would be six feet under. That sounds like Victor’s ideal scenario!

The problem is that not everyone believes Diane is such a heinous criminal.

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) wants to believe his mother has changed like she claims and could work to prove Diane’s innocence.

It’s still early in the story, but Ashland has seemingly sealed his own deadly fate with his dialogue.

The May 30 episode will also bring Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) hope that Ashland will be Diane’s undoing.

It just makes sense for Diane to be framed for Ashland’s murder, especially since she once let others go to jail while she was alive and well.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane could land in hot water down the road, so stay tuned.
