The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Y&R could be gearing up for their next cheating scandal. Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) are all heading back in dangerous territory, so let’s talk about the potential for more trouble.
Nate has been struggling ever since he found out Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) duped him.
Although Nate thought he was a good judge of character, Ashland manipulated him and took advantage of his compassion as a doctor.
Now Nate wants to hit the reset button and try to put all that Ashland drama behind him.
As part of that plan, Nate also wants to move back in the penthouse that Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) once left him – the one Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) now has up for sale.
However, that also means Nate and Elena will be living just across the hall from Devon and Amanda.
What could possibly go wrong?! This just seems like it could be a setup for a major romantic disaster.
That’s especially true based on Elena’s initial reaction to the idea in the March 24 episode.
Despite ultimately getting on board, it’s clear that Elena’s first instinct is to battle reservations on this.
Of course, it’s easy to see why since Elena is finally in a good place with Nate – and Devon is in a good place with Amanda, too.
Devon was recently talking about how happy he is and how he feels like everything in his life is falling into place.
That kind of talk usually guarantees some sort of downfall.
Devon could have some serious pain and anger headed his way once Y&R delivers some catastrophes.
If things get stressful, that could set the stage for some cheating.
With Elena and Nate living so close, it could make it even easier for cheating to happen.
Elena will be mere footsteps away from Devon – and there’s always going to be a bit of a spark between them.
Nate had a romance with Amanda once upon a time as well, so that presents another path to betrayal.
The show could be creating a ticking time bomb by having the four of them living in the temptation zone, so we’ll see how it all plays out!
