The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for the week of August 1-5 teases that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will be obsessed with protecting Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) while Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) makes a disturbing discovery.
First, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will rip into Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) over yet another tense encounter with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).
Since Phyllis couldn’t stick to the truce, Jack will get fed up with her – particularly since she’ll go off when Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) might hear.
Meanwhile, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will get some support from Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) following her surgery.
Although Tessa will have a long road to recovery ahead, Mariah will stay positive about her revived singing career.
Speaking of careers, Noah Newman’s (Rory Gibson) professional future will come with a setback.
We’ll see Noah hit some roadblocks when it comes to the nightclub he wants to put together, but Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) should convince him to hang in there.
Over with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), he’ll work with Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) on the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) investigation.
Kevin will help Chance contemplate some unnerving new proof, which should leave Chance further convinced that Ashland’s death wasn’t due to the car crash.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will make sure Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) and his security team are careful as this investigation intensifies.
There may be some holes to fill when it comes to this cover-up, but Victor will put his family’s protection above all else.
That could be a problem for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), who’ll face his father’s ultimatum.
Nick will worry Victor moved Ashland’s body, but Victor may push his son to drop this or else he won’t like how things turn out.
There’ll be some friction between Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) at Chancellor-Winters as well.
Devon will think Nate might need a mentor once he screws up at work again, but Nate will balk and insist his cousin is overreacting.
Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will step up to play peacemaker later, so it sounds like she’ll try to find a solution for Nate and Devon.
Unfortunately, Amanda’s efforts may not make a difference since Devon and Nate seem determined to butt heads lately.
Other Y&R spoilers say Amanda will make a vow to Diane, so what will that promise look like?
Amanda might give Diane the benefit of the doubt and vow to discourage Phyllis’ hostility.
If Amanda could at least keep Phyllis away from Diane, that might be helpful.
Then again, Amanda may stay loyal to Phyllis and vow to make Diane pay if she dares to do anything that hurts her.
Either way, it’ll be interesting to see Amanda and Diane’s new scenes.
As for Diane, she’ll turn to Jack as a confidant.
Jack will keep his guard up when it comes to Diane, but he should continue to see positive changes in her – unlike the constant regression he keeps seeing from Phyllis.
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will grow increasingly curious over all the Ashland drama and how the Newmans are handling things.
Nick will face Sally’s interrogation, but he may not reveal much.
Victoria, on the other hand, will find out a secret thanks to Nick’s visit.
Nick will fill Victoria in on something, so that may happen after Victor potentially confesses his cover-up – at least to Nick.
Chance will have to keep searching for evidence, so that could lead to Abby’s unsettling discovery.
Abby will catch Chance in a tight spot, so she may put her own clues together and realize the Newmans are in trouble over this Ashland investigation.
Finally, Billy will support Victoria through the latest Ashland mess.
Victoria will confide about that horrible night and how Ashland is still haunting her family in some ways.
This should be cathartic for Victoria and bring her closer to Billy, but Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) isn’t going to approve if this keeps up.
Lily already feels like Billy is obsessed with protecting Victoria, so his fixation on her in the coming episodes will add to that fear.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say the week of August 1-5 will bring some fierce fights and tough breaks, so stick with the CBS soap.
