The winner of Survivor 43 is Gabler, the jury go over and congratulate him. Cassidy is still sitting there shocked, she can’t believe it.
Everyone is enjoying pizza and wine. Gabler is shaking, he says tonight was special, he got to tell the entire story. He was working it to the very last second. Jeff felt that as well, and so did the jury. Karla says the jury had a fact check and Gabler ticked all the boxes, he knew what he was doing and that is what they wanted to hear. Gabler says this feels bigger than he knows. He is only the second player in Survivor over 50. He says they are going to make history another way. Gabler says he is donating the entire prize in his father’s need to veterans in need. They made history.
Jeff says he doesn’t want to lose that this is in honour of his family. Gabler says he was fortunate to have come from a military family. Jeff asks Gabler if he is rich, he says no, but he has been fortunate. He has an amazing wife, an amazing life.
Jesse says he felt pretty powerful with two idols early on, but he was no way going to show them off.
Jeff talks about the moment Jesse shook Cody’s hand after he was the one to get him voted out. Cody says he had a lot of fun with Jesse and he was so proud of him for making that move. His game was so good, that he thanks him for carrying him through. Sami reveals that he is 19 years old, says age is just a number.
Jeff tells Noelle that they put her on the show because she was a bad ass. Noelle says she never felt alone, everyone was cheering her on and giving her support.
Karla talks about her injuries, and she reveals that she lost twenty pounds before she appeared on Survivor.
Jeff asks Jesse what is the take away. Jesse says he has had to pivot his whole life. He was in a gang, juvenile hall, then he went to Berkeley and to Duke. He has a small circle, his core, which is his wife and children. He suffers from imposter syndrome, he didn’t know if he could do this, if people would like him. So he was honest and everyone loved him. Even though he came up short, he built this confidence in himself.
Cody says cheers to Gabler for the greatest move in Survivor history. Jeff toasts it as well.
THE END!
