In tonight’s 9-1-1 Lone Star episode, Carlos woke up in some stranger’s kitchen. He got there because he was investigating what happened to Iris. She claimed she had been abducted by a man with a knife. Carlos was the one to rescue her from an abandoned house and he was the only one who truly believed her story. Everyone else had simply thought she had a break from reality.

Carlos had tried to prove Iris wasn’t lying by returning to the house where she was held hostage and he found something everyone else missed. He found a tunnel. He should have called for backup the moment he found the tunnel, but he hadn’t. He wanted to pursue the matter alone.

Carlos followed the tunnel into a second house. He then got hit over the head. He later woke up in that kitchen and he had been tied up. An elderly woman was keeping him hostage. She was doing it for her son, Darryl. Darryl was the one who abducted Iris. He likes kidnapping women.

He likes killing women. There was literally a body of a dead woman in the kitchen at the same time as Carlos and he saw it. He also saw how Darryl’s mother was his accomplice. She closed a door on that dead body and acted like it was a bother instead of a crime.

The woman wasn’t going to kill anyone. She just wasn’t going to let her son go down for killing a bunch of women. She was the one that hit Carlos over the head with a shovel and she tied him up. Darryl later arrived at the house with no clue what was going on. His mom had to fill him in.

She told him that Carlos found the tunnel and found them. Darryl also found Carlos’s badge. He realized he was a cop. He also put together that Carlos was alone because he didn’t see any backup and so that’s when he and his mother assumed no one else was looking for him. And that’s where they had been wrong.

Carlos has a fiancé. He has TK. TK thought Carlos was angry at him when he failed to return home and he started thinking differently as hours went by with no word from Carlos. It wasn’t like Carlos to ghost him. TK talked about it with his dad.

Owen told him to give Carlos space and he rushed TK off the phone because he was doing something for the FBI. TK then talked about it with his friends. They thought it was odd that Carlos was gone. They tried contacting him themselves and got no answer. They then called Carlos’s job only to find out he wasn’t there.

TK next tried Grace. He asked her to trace Carlos’s phone. She said the last activity on the phone was when Carlos talked to TK and that he had been calling from the house where Iris was rescued. TK went to Carlos’s dad, the Major. He got his help and together they went to the house. They didn’t find Carlos or his car. He did however find a burnt-up driver’s license at the abandoned house of another woman who went missing. This went a long way to prove to the cops that Iris wasn’t lying about a man holding her hostage. And it got TK and his father-in-law some backup.

The police started coming in. They were all over the neighborhood. TK hadn’t wanted to wait for them and so he went knocking on doors by himself. He found Darryl’s mom. She had put tape over Carlos’s mouth. She pretended that she had a pesky cat that was making noise in the background as she was talking to TK. TK never suspected a thing. TK went with Carlos’s father back to the police station. The police had figured out they were looking for a serial killer and that he was targeting mentally ill women.

Only it was TK who realized all the women were using the same pharmacy. This was how Darryl picks his victims. He was a pharmacist. He watched the women that came in. He was able to tell which ones were homeless and he would go after them. He forced them to come off their medication because he wanted to watch them have episodes. He would then kill them with a bunch of morphine that he stole from the pharmacy. Darryl didn’t have enough to kill Carlos and so he actually went into work on his shift off just so that he could get the drugs to kill a cop.

TK and the Major went to that pharmacy. They found out that Darryl filled all the medications. They had just missed him. They were told that Darryl was riding a bike and how that was unusual for him. They realized he must have ditched the car that he used to abduct Iris. He also ditched Carlos’s car and Carlos didn’t have a tracker on the car because that option was too expensive. But once they realized Darryl was involved, the men rushed to his house. They broke down the door and they found Carlos passed out on the floor.

Carlos had tried fighting back. They drugged him with all the morphine they had in the needle and so TK performed CPR on him. They got back a pulse. Carlos woke up fighting and he calmed down the second he realized he was safe. They still called an ambulance for him, but TK thought it was odd that he couldn’t get into contact with his dad. Owen went dark on him.

Owen wore a wire to meet up with Ty and it turns out the Honor Dogs thought they were the rat. Ty explained he started the Honor Dogs as a way of first responders to give back to the community. He then left the organization when it started to become something else. But his nephew remembered how it was. He wanted to be an Honor Dog because of his uncle and that’s how he ended up joining a radicalized version of it. So, Ty was telling the truth about his nephew. Luckily, both Ty and Owen weren’t blamed for the raid. And Ty became the new FBI informant.

The FBI wanted nothing to do with Owen for the countless mistakes he made during his short tenure as a spy.
