In tonight’s 9-1-1 Lodestar someone in a fancy car blew through a red light. He hit another car. He then walked away from the scene before 911 was called and so luckily the other driver called for help. The hit and run guy had left behind an unconscious man in his backseat. The paramedics found this man in time.

They rescued him with the help of the firefighters. They were taking him to the hospital when he came to. He knocked out TK. He made a run for it. Just not before they saw a fresh surgery wound on his lower abdomen.

Their victim turned attacker recently had surgery. Tommy suspected it was an underground surgery because it didn’t look like it was treated at the hospital. Tommy reported what happened to the cops.

They weren’t concerned in looking for this man, but she reminded him that he had to have gotten the organ from some place and it wasn’t from the hospital. She called around. There’s been new kidney donation. Tommy told the detective on the case that he needed to look for someone missing a kidney.

Only that person found them. There was a young woman who woke up in a bathtub filled with ice. Her name ws Lexi. She had no idea how she had gotten to that place.

She doesn’t remember the night before and so she woke up to find a phone right next to her. She called 911. She got Grace. Grace tracked down her location. She got paramedics out to her and unfortunately she didn’t have a pulse by time they got to her. They had to work on her for a while before they got her pulse back. And the hits kept coming from there.

Lexi has an infection from the amateur surgery that was done on her. Her kidney had been removed. She was just left out to die. She might still die from the infection and the cops didn’t believe her that her kidney had been stolen. They thought she sold it. They were trying to arrest her.

The same detective that tried to dismiss Tommy had tried to dismiss Grace. Grace went to go check on Lexi. Lexi didn’t have family. She has a stepdad that lived in Alabama and they haven’t talked in years. And so when she met a guy she liked online, she thought it would be safe to meet up at a bar.

Lexi was still groggy. She couldn’t remember what bar it was. Her date also deleted his profile and so the cops couldn’t even check that they were talking to each other. It also didn’t help that all the women that were trying to fight back against this one cop were black women while he was a white man. Sometimes racism doesn’t have to be overt. It could be an unconscious bias that most people don’t realize until they’re confronted about it. Grace then decided to stop waiting around for the police and she tried to solve Lexi’s case on her own.

Grace created a fake dating profile on the same app as Lexi. She used her own picture because she suspected their kidney thief was targeting black women. Grace checked several other states. There have been reports of several black women waking up in bathtubs without their kidneys. They were all over the United States. Grace tried to get Carlos’s help only he wanted to do things by the book. He went to a detective friend of his in Missing Persons. He asked her to take the case. She said she wouldn’t go over another detective’s head.

Sarina went back to the clueless Detective McGregor. She showed him what Grace had collected. He then said it was too much of a headache and so he gave the case to Sarina. He didn’t want to do the extra work to find this guy that was butchering women. Lexi later died from her infection. Her case was now a homicide. Sarina at least did due diligence. She tracked down the man that bought the kidney. She made sure he got medical attention. Which he needed because his body was rejecting the kidney. Clint Harris had thought the kidney a donation not a theft.

When he found out his kidney came from a dead woman, he told the cops everything. They later went to this surgical suite. They found a woman who was waiting for a kidney. She was prepped and everything. They wandered who the next victim was and it turns out it was Grace. Grace was contacted by the same man that targeted Lexi. His name was “Mike”. Mike was actually a black man. He was literally betraying his own. He was doing it for the money of course and because he knew cops wouldn’t believe black women. And so Grace tried to call Carlos at this point.

She wasn’t getting him or Sarina. She next tried calling Detective McGregor to warn him about the guy setting his sights on her. He didn’t really believe her because he was still the same cop that doubted black women, but he still showed up and he arrived right after Grace had saved herself. Grace saw Mike drug her drink. She then mixed their cups so that Mike was drinking the date rape drug instead of her. And he passed out mere minutes before the detective showed up.

Mike had needed to be taken to the hospital. Judd also showed up and he made sure that McGregor never doubted his wife again.

But Owen’s half-brother was in town. Robert was visiting to reconnect and he also had to tell Owen that he had Huntington’s disease. The disease was hereditary. His kids were at risk only Owen could also be at risk as well. The disease runs through their father’s family. Their father had it, too. He just died before the disease could kill him. And so Robert warned Owen, he also spent what few days he has left with him.

THE END!
