In tonight’s 9-1-1 episode, there was a medical emergency at a spin class. The instructor fainted on them. Only he wasn’t the only one to do so. He was simply t
The one that was supposed to help them burn off fat. It turns out that drinking that stuff was dehydrating them and even overdosing them on B3. They all had to be rushed to the hospital. Bobby had to call for additional ambulances because he just didn’t have room for everyone that was sick. And so hopefully this will be the last time anyone sees of that tea.
After the day they had, the firefighters really wanted to enjoy their time off. They thought they could relax at home or catch up on tv and they had been wrong. There were unforeseen incidents that meant they each had their hands full. Buck for one wanted to test himself to see if he had superpowers.
Buck did some math in his head during the spin class thing. He’s never been one for math. He didn’t really study much when he was in school. He was more interested in extreme sports back then and it makes no sense why he would suddenly know mathematical answers.
Unless he has superpowers. Buck really wanted that to be true. He and Eddie looked into it and there were some people who developed special abilities after being hit by lightning.
These abilities would usually last for a couple weeks. No more than that. Buck was sadden to hear that but he was enjoying his superpowers while he could. Eddie’s son even asked him to help with his math homework. Something that had never happened before. Buck and Eddie would soon come up with a bright idea to get rich from these new superpowers.
Hen meanwhile spent her day off with Chimney. They were hanging out. He was telling her about his mysterious new neighbor. There was a pushy woman who introduced herself to Maddie as Carol.
She wanted her child to have a playdate with Jee-Yun. She basically pushed a pan on muffins on Maddie and Maddie got rid of her by saying she had to go to work. Maddie thought nothing of the encounter. She took the muffins with her to work and her co-workers seemed to have enjoyed them. And so the problem occurred when Maddie tried to return the dish.
Maddie didn’t care for how pushy Carol was. Only she still wanted to be a good neighbor. She washed the dish and was all ready to return it when she learned that Carol wasn’t really Carol. There was a real Carol who lived in that house for three years. She was black, married, and has no kids. The fake Carol was a white redhead. She also pushed for a playdate and so did she really have kids or did she come around the house to case the place? Maddie wasn’t sure. Chimney wasn’t sure. Hen couldn’t help them and so they turned to Athena for help.
Athena and Bobby later come over for dinner. Athena mentioned several scams that could explain why the woman approached Maddie and her leading theory was that she was in fact casing the place. It would explain why she sorta barged her way into the house. This woman probably wanted to see how wealthy they were. She must have seen they were slowly renovating the place and a slow renovation usually meant budgetary concerns. Athena reassured Maddie that the woman will probably not come back.
Maddie and Chimney let the matter go, but they were still creeped out. They decided to put up cameras and it’s a good thing too because fake Carol came back around. Maddie let her into the house because she saw the woman with a little boy. She also alerted LAPD. They came by and they ended up arresting the woman. Her real name was Rhonda Fitzsimmons. She was a con artist. She used to live up the road in the house that the real Carol bought and she only wanted entrance into Maddie’s home because she wanted to steal some mail.
Rhonda has an illegal couponing business where she scams people. She was caught the last time and sent to prison. She just got out when she tried to start up the business again. She couldn’t let the checks come to her real house because that’s how she got caught the last time. She instead sent them to what she thought was still an abandoned house and so she received a shock when she learned that Maddie and Chimney had bought the place. Rhonda’s probation was revoked. She was sent back to prison and her nephew was returned to her sister. That will probably be the last time the sister ever trusts Rhonda to watch her son for her.
As for Hen, her day went off the rails when she learned that Denny has been lying for months. Denny has secretly been meeting up with his dad. Denny really wants a dad and his bio dad loved having someone in his life that he was related to by blood. His moms only found out about these meetings after they learned their son hasn’t been taking the school bus home. He’s been getting picked up by this complete stranger. And they got into a car accident, but everything was okay because no one was seriously hurt and that didn’t negate that Denny seemed to enjoy himself with his dad.
His moms decided to let the relationship continue. They put Denny before themselves and so they made a hard choice. One they’ll be struggling to live with for quite a while.
But Buck’s superpowers meant he and Eddie could cheat at poker. They thought they wouldn’t get caught. They were wrong. They got caught counting cards. They still walked away with steaks, but they weren’t allowed back to the tables until Buck’s superpower wears off.
THE END!
