In tonight’s 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 days episode, everyone initially felt bad for Tyray. He doesn’t really get out much. He was just looking for love. Even if it came from all the wrong places. People tended to drop the pity though after he refused to believe he was catfished. He wouldn’t listen to this man claiming there was no Carmella.
He wouldn’t read the text message from this man saying there was no Carmella. He fell in love with a picture and he didn’t care that this very real woman never sought a romantic relationship with him. Nor did she know that her images were being used to lure unsuspecting men into giving a man named Christian their money.
Again, the people were with Tyray at the start of all of this. They felt sorry that he had been catfished by an unscrupulous person only out for money. He had pity and then he turned to that anger. His refusal to believe he had been catfished had been so delusional that constantly everyone wondered when he’d wake up. When will he face the music?
When would he admit he wasn’t in love with a real person? Well, now Tyray was admitting he was catfished. He also found the real woman in the photos that he had been sent. He flew out to meet her and he wanted to bring a gift and impress her. And it’s clear he still believes he has a chance with this woman.
Tyray never cared about getting to know this person. He just saw a lot of edited photos and fell in love with those photos. Not with the person behind it. Not with the person it literally is. Tyray later met the real woman. She looks different in person. She doesn’t wear her working wig. She was still beautiful. She wears glasses like him. She just wasn’t fawning over him or showing any interest in him. Like the fake woman did. She wasn’t looking to date him. “Carmella” had agreed to meeting him so that he knows that the other person is fake.
Over in Romania, Amanda finally took the plunge with Razvan. They slept together. They were so happy about that and it seems her conversation with his friend had helped Amanda face reality. Amanda constantly expected Razvan to be like Jason. Jason was her late husband. He died much too soon and she was still dealing with her grief.
She just wasn’t fully ready to commit to someone else. Which is okay. She was grieving at her own pace. She simply wasn’t ready to jump back into a relationship and so don’t take them finally sleeping together as sign that everything’s good.
It was a step in the right direction. Only his friend had been right. Razvan’s friend had said the relationship was toxic and she wasn’t wrong. Amanda kept expecting Razvan to be Jason.
She secretly compares the two. She mentioned something to Razvan tonight and she broke his heart. He felt like he could never measure up to the paragon that was Jason. Razvan may not be a saint, but he deserved someone ready to love him for him. He shouldn’t be toyed with while Amanda figures her crap out.
Speaking of people who deserve more, Cleo deserves better than Christian. The two slept together. Cleo said as much to her friend. Christian would later ask her to not to tell anyone about it and he phrased it as if he was looking out for her best interest. When everyone knows the truth about what happened. Cleo and Christian were intimate.
He quickly got worried about people knowing he had sexual relations with a transwoman and he tried to gaslight Cleo. Cleo pushed back at him. She challenged him over what he said. And he wasn’t expecting that.
Christian kept saying that it wasn’t sex in his mind. He said it was something else. She began to suspect he was trying to manipulate her. He’s been giving her mixed signals ever since he arrived in London. He kisses her and then he claims he doesn’t make the first move. He doesn’t try anything. He doesn’t flirt. He actually got a lot flirtier with a table full of strange women when they went out to a bar than he did with Cleo. And Cleo still gave him the benefit of the doubt until Christian began telling people that nothing happened between them.
Cleo met up with a friend. She told her friend everything she was feeling. Her friend came to believe, just as she did, that Christian was ashamed of sleeping with a transwoman and so her friend followed her back to the Airbnb. The friend was just going to listen in only Christian said he felt outnumbered. Mind you the woman hadn’t said anything.
He asked Jayde to give him and Cleo some alone time and then he tried to gaslight Cleo again about what really happened between them. He tried to say it wasn’t sex. He claimed that Cleo is making him out to be worst than he is. He was being a real jerk and he fails to see how much he hurt Cleo by trying to hide her.
Statler meanwhile set up a happy surprise for Dempsey for Valentine’s Day. She bought roses. She set up a treasure hunt with the roses leading the way. Statler also left behind cards with sappy love poems and it was sweet.
It was the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for Dempsey on one hand. On the other hand, she wasn’t really one for flowers. Dempsey wants to replant all of the roses she found. She didn’t say that when she finally ran into Statler at a campfire because she wanted to be nice and so she let Statler finish out the day she planned.
Statler gave her a gift for their first Valentine’s. It was earrings made out of mushrooms. It was sustainable fashion that Dempsey does love. Dempsey loved the earrings. She was however not ready to move in with Statler. Statler tried to sneak that one in at the end of the date and it went against everything Dempsey told her dad that she would do.
Her dad told her that Statler was in too much of a rush. Dempsey agreed with him and she said that she would find out if Statler really loves her for her or if she just wants to be loved by someone. Dempsey swore to her dad that she would take things slow with Statler. Yet, here’s Statler ready to move in together after just a week.
Down in the Philippines, David was glad to see Sheila recovering after losing her mom. They kind of had to press fast-forward on their relationship after her mother passed away. They planned the funeral together. They stood vigil over the body together. They did a lot of things as a couple. A couple with a future, no less. But technically they were still just getting to know each other. Sheila blames her mother’s death on the accident she had at their house and she wanted to repair the house so that her father won’t have accidents either.
The issue was that Sheila was hoping David would pay for the house’s upkeep. She wants all these renovations and she wants him to pay for them. Only he can’t. He could chip in some money here or there. He just couldn’t pay for everything. David was a working man. He doesn’t have it in his budget to afford everything or a new place for them. David tried to say it in the kindest way possible that maybe they can both contribute to the house. Sheila wasn’t working right now and so she could go find a job. And that way the household has two forms of income.
Gino needs to have that conversation with Jasmine as well. Jasmine was worried about how his family will treat her. She said they’ve talked about her as if she was a gold-digger. Well, the best way to combat that was by getting a job the moment you get to the States. Or continue working right now in Panama. Or agree to the prenup. Jasmine doesn’t want to do any of those things and she was failing to take into account that Gino was retired. He was living off a fixed income. He couldn’t afford the high life for her or even for them together as a couple.
Chrisitan later had Cleo apologizing to him. For hurting his feelings. Christian has manipulated the situation to his own end. He doesn’t seem like he’ll ever truly grow up or admit what happened. Only Cleo was dropping the subject for now. She sent her friend home. She stayed at the Airbnb with Christian. They were a little awkward around each other. Everyone highly doubts they’ll sleep together again after tonight’s episode. And its sad that Cleo still thinks there’s hope for them after this.
As for Tyray, he asked the real Carmella if she was involved in the catfish. She told him she wasn’t. She also mentioned she just wants to do her for now after Tyray asked if she was single. Tyray also gave her the candle he bought as a gift. He asked if they could meet up again and be friends. She didn’t shoot that idea down. She’s always wanted to visit California and she said as much. So who knows where this could lead? And Tyray realizes that he still wants to find love. He said he’d prefer it to be in the real world and not online.
Only Dempsey told Statler she couldn’t move in with her. She said they were still getting to know each other. She didn’t realize that Statler had cheated on a previous girlfriend or that she was still in communication with her ex. The same woman she tried to move in with less than a year ago. Her ex found out that Statler was coming to England and she offered her a ride. She said they could stay at a hotel room to say everything they needed to say. And Statler didn’t agree to it only she also didn’t tell her current girlfriend anything about it. And that’s why they couldn’t move in together.
People are in too much of a rush when they barely know each other. The same was said for Amanda and Razvan. Razvan tried to pin down some form of commitment from Amanda. She then turned the tables on him. She asked him if he came up with a plan for when he lives in the United States. She said she already has a job and a family to support. She wasn’t going to support him while he chases his dream of acting. He needed a backup plan. He needed to be willing to work to support his new family. And so that’s when Amanda brought up Jason.
Amanda said Jason would do whatever it is for his family. He worked his way up to managing a place because he wanted something with long-term benefits that his children could one day enjoy. Amanda said Jason had a strong work ethic. She then compared him to Razvan and Razvan didn’t look so good in the comparison. Both Amanda as well as Razvan are realizing that they aren’t what each other needs. She needs someone more pragmatic and who doesn’t want anymore kids. Razvan needs someone more understanding of his artistic nature and who will give him children. And so these two weren’t in for the long haul.
THE END!
