On tonight’s American Idol season 6 episode 6 as per the ABC synopsis,“Fan-favorite “American Idol” alumni return as contestant mentors to build confidence, stage presence and songwriting as they prepare for amazing performances on the iconic Hollywood Week stage.”

Tonight’s American Idol episode begins with Hollywood week, judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie are set to go. The finalists get to choose one area where they want to see improvement; confidence, song writing and stage presence.
For the first time in Idol history, there will be four platinum ticket winners. Out there hopefuls, Elijah McCormick, Hayden Madison and Matt Wilson. America has voted, one will win the platinum ticket, it is Elijah McCormick, he is except from the first round.
Idol veterans come back to help the hopefuls. For songwriting, Phillip Phillips and Catie Turner, for confidence Clay Aiken and David Archuleta, and for stage presence Justin Guarini and Jordan Sparks.
Nutsa is first to perform and she is being mentored by Justin and she tells him that her problem is that she has a lot of energy. She is performing “I Surrender.”
There is no direct feedback from the judges.
Colin Stough is next and he is singing ‘Stone” by Whiskey Myers.
Sarah Beth had the perfect mentor for confidence, Clay. She is singing “Roxanne,” by the Police. At the end of her performance she runs out and says she is going home to her babies. Katy sees that she has a fighting spirit and walks to talk to her. Sarah Beth returns to the stage. Katy tells her that she is going to lose out on her fullest potential, self love is as important as mother love.
In this round, everyone makes it through to the next round.
Katy talks to Sarah again, she tells her she got a yes and may get another one in the future, don’t give up.
Sarah Beth goes home.
Mary Beth Byrd is next on state and she is singing, “Something In The Orange.”
Zachariah Smith is singing “As Cold As Ice,” by Foreigner and Clay is giving him tips on confidence.
Hannah Nicolaisen is the first to be mentored by Catie. She doesn’t have a lot of experience but she looks forward to sharing her own song.
All three make it to the next round.
We Ani sings an original song. She gets a standing ovation by the audience and the judges.
Olivia Soli sings “How Will I Know,” by Whitney Houston.
Malik Heard sings, “I AM About to Lose my Mind,” and Kaeyra also performs.
Lyric Medeiros is mentored by Jordin and she sings “They Just Keep Moving The Line.”
We, Kaeyra, Malik and Olivia are going through.
This is the end of the journey for Lyric.
Paige Anne is mentored by David for confidence, she is singing, “Raise A Hallelujah.”
McKayla Stacey’s father auditioned for season 7 of Idol and she was a baby then when Jordin babysat her. Jordan is not mentoring her and she feels the pressure, she is singing, “You Will Never Hurt Me Again.”
Hayden Madison is being mentioned by Phillip for song writing, she is singing “Still Need You,” an original song written for her brother. She wrote this song as her last hope for him to stick around. Philip is impressed with the song writing. Her brother tells her he is proud of her. She gets a standing ovation from everyone in the room. Luke says in the background that she is a massive star.
Making through are Malik and McKayla, it is the end of the line.
Paige Anne and Hayden make it to the next round.
Matt Wilson is next and he is singing, “Can You Stand The Rain,” Jordin mentors him.
Oliver Steels is singing “Broken Halos,” by Chris Stapleton. He gets some mentoring by Phillip, but decides not to do an original.
Their group is making to the next round.
Fire is back, her journey has been hard, she didn’t make it, but Katy gave her a second chance in Nashville and she was put through. Clay gives her some mentoring before she performs and he seals it with a hug. She is so happy that she had a second opportunity to win the judges over.
Lucy Love is singing, “Make You Feel My Love,” after being mentored by Jordin. She brings down the roof on that performance. Katy says that is what they can spectacular.
Lucy and Fire make it through to the next round.
Brayden Phillips was mentored for confidence, he had a lot of stage freight.
Noah says the best thing they can all do is be their selves.
Mariah Thompson wanted to be mentored for stage presence after she saw Noah and Hunter Girl on stage.
Trey Louis picked stage presence because it is his first time on the stage in his life. He is singing, “Vienna,” by Billy Joel.
Mariah and Trey make it through. Brayden is going home.
Emma Busse has worked out to get the Broadway out of her like Katy suggested. She is singing, “My Mind.”
Emma makes it through and Kate tells her that she is spectacular.
Ashley Tankard is feeling the pressure to deliver, her voice cracked. Karmon Lawson had a similar issue.
Megan Danielle worked on her confidence, she is the contestant who sang Lauren Daigle’s song during the auditions and got to meet her. She gets so emotional towards the end that she can’t finish it and the judges love it.
Megan is going through to the next round, the rest say goodbye.
The final singers have their shot. Dawson Wayne is singing an original, “Sour Skies.”
Kya Money is singing “And I am telling you,” by Jennifer Hudson.
Iam Tongi worked on confidence, he always closes his eyes when he sings and thinks about his dad who passed away a few months ago. Clay tells him that he has such a powerful voice. He is singing, “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” by Bonnie Raitt. Lionel says he is a top ten.
All three make it through.
Katy tells the contestants that it is their choice, they have to pick their duet partners for the next round.
