Tonight’s AGT episode begins with Terry Crews opening up the show, with judges Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell who is still struggling with his voice.
First up are the Sharpe Family Singers from New Jersey. They have been wanting to be on AGT for years, they have been singing since birth to their children. Mom and dad met 30 years ago performing on stage. One by one each kid wanted to be singing with them.
Sofia says it was perfection, they don’t even look real and they sounded amazing. Howie says musical theatre is not his jam, but they became his jam, he loves what they do. Heidi says they are living her dream, she would love to do this with her family. Simon says it was very apple pie. It is four yes votes for them to move on.
Adrian is from Italy, he is with his best friend Hurricaine, his dog. He is a dog coach.
Heidi says he is a good actor and his dog is so fast, the routine was unbelievable. Sofia says Hurricane had to do so many things, she thought she was amazing and he was great. Howie says they see a lot of dog act, this was one of his favourites, he didn’t cue anything. Simon says this was his favourite audition so far this season. It is another four yes votes for these two to move forward.
Chen Li is an acrobat born in China but just moved to Las Vegas. He is working in restaurant delivery waiting for his chance. He says his act is dangerous and he is the only one in the world that does this kind of act.
Howie says he did things they haven’t seen before and he is incredibly fluid. Heidi doesn’t know how he did things, he is incredible. Sofia says it was perfection, dangerous and insane, the most fun she has had tonight and doesn’t know he doesn’t perform yet in Vegas. Simon says it was on another level, one of his favourite performances. Four yes votes.
Brook and Jack perform under the name Trailer Flowers, they randomly became roommates. The dream has been to sell crazy records, go on crazy tours, shake their booty, meet people and connect. Sofia tells them to go and start shaking the booties.
Simon stops them and asks them to choose a second song, they do an original. Simon gives them a thumbs up. Sofia says they have beautiful voices, the second song was better. Howie says he thinks they are good singers, but what they do, they are good but not great. Heidi loves their friendship, how they support each other, she really liked it. Simon says people are going to love them and he loved the audition. Howie says no, the other three say yes so they are going through.
Erica Coffelt is 36 years old and she is a self-taught dancer from Reno, Nevada.
Sofia didn’t have much hope for here, she was surprisingly good, it was fantastic. Simon says she is what this show is all about. Heidi says she was rocking out with her and she wants to see more. Howie says the joy of her hip hop dancing is contagious. Four yes votes from the judges.
Ryland is from England, 10 years old and he is a magician.
Heidi says he was incredible and his magic was magical, she loved it. Howie likes him and magic, it was more than magic, he was amazing. Sofia says it was so much fun for them. Simon says Ryland almost gave him his voice back, he has magic powers. It is four yes votes for Ryland to move forward. Simon tells him to skip school and go right to Vegas, he likes him, he is cheeky.
A man comes out on stage looking like Jason from the Halloween movies and he is really creepy. He sits down to the piano and starts playing Bach. Then, all of a sudden, there is another one like him behind the judges, he goes up on stage to join his other self and starts dancing. Heidi hits the first buzzer, Simon hits it next. Heidi says it wasn’t enough for her. Howie says he was waiting for something and didn’t get it. Sofia liked it and she is the only one to say yes, they are not going through.
Barry Brewer is from the south side of Chicago. He is a musician and grew up singing in the church. He is also a comedy and he mixes the two in his act.
Sofia says she has never seen a magician mix it up with music. Howie thinks he is one of the most likeable and charming people. Heidi loved it and didn’t want it to end, it was way to short, she wants a lot more. Simon says he is funny, really funny, a different kind of comedy. It is four yes votes to go to the next round.
Justin Jackson is from Montreal, Canada, he is 33 years old and is a tap dance artist.
Sofia says he made tap dancing sexy, funny and modern, it was a show. Howie says he tapped into something, he thinks he is loveable and people would show up and want to see him. Heidi says he is unique and cool, it was spectacular. Simon said it was so good, great things will happen for him, hard work pays off. It is four yes votes to go through.
Ryan Hyashi is a magician, he does tricks with coins and cards, Heidi and Terry sit in. Simon didn’t like it, he says it was boring, Howie and Sofia didn’t like it either.
Sang Soon Kim is from South Korea and he is also a magician.
Simon says he is original, interesting, funny and everything they want on this show, he is brilliant. Sofia says his magic is fresh. Heidi loved it a lot, it was incredible. Howie says they have seen a lot of magic and he did something they never seen before, he dazzled them. It is four yes votes, Sang Soon is going through.
LaShanee is from South Carolina but living in Texas. She is a voice teacher and a student. She grew up in a singing family.
Simon says she has a beautiful voice and he is fascinated by it. He tells her that she has to find her lane, it was a fantastic audition. Sofia loved it, she says it was perfect. Heidi is happy that she put herself fist and showed them who she is. Howie says she torn down the walls and her life is about to change. It is four yes votes from the judges.
