Tonight’s episode begins with Danny and Baez who arrive on the scene of a crime, the victim is Rosalie Gonzales, 23 years old, just moved in six months ago. A call came in as a wellness check. She was found on her bed lying on her back, rosary beads, black onyx, in her hand a note, “return to me for I have redeemed you.” She Is strangled, posed, Baez says it has the earmarks of Dr. Leonard Walker. Danny gets a call, another victim, same thing, looks like a copycat killer.
Frank is holding a press conference regarding the city’s rising homeless population.
Janko and Badillo are on the scene of woman with blood on her face, she says the perpetrator had a grey hoodie, black jeans, black and red sneakers, twenties she thinks. Jamie is patrolling and thinks he sees the guy, he gets on a foot race with him and catches him. The perp tells Jamie to Call Erin Regan, she will take care of him.
Erin’s ex-husband shows up at her office, he wishes her luck in announcing her candidacy. Anthony rushes into the office, he says there is a woman, Louise Johnson, she was beaten and is in the hospital, the guy who did is Tyler Green. He was arrested a few weeks ago for assault, they made him an offer, attend a program instead of jail time and he never showed up for the program.
Danny goes to see his old partner, Jackie Curatola, she tells him that a summer renter, Melinda Cohen, rented a bungalow off Main Street found strangled, the rosary in the their hands and posed. She wants to work the case together. Baez calls him, she just got off the phone with Bellehaven, this is not a copycat killer after all, Dr. Walker was released three weeks ago.
Danny goes to see Erin and says he has two more dead women and Dr. Walker is released. She tells him that he has no prints and no evidence. He says he has two more women killed with the same MO.
Frank and Mayor Chase are in the car together and they disagree on how to handle the homeless. Chase wants Frank’s guys to haul in emotional disturbed people on the street who do nothing wrong. When they stop at an intersection, a homeless man jumps on their SVU and tries hitting the windshield with a brick. Both thinks it proves the others point.
Danny is in an interrogation room with Dr. Walker, he tells him that he needs his help with two more murder victims. He shows him photos of the women. Dr. Walker says maybe it was a team that killed them, a teacher and an apprentice. He gives him a name, Jeremy, and won’t say anything else. Danny says he would like to speak to Jeremy, but Dr. Walker isn’t going to tell anymore.
Erin goes to see Louise Johnson and she is furious that she let her Tyler Green go, she yells at Erin and tells her to get out.
Danny and Baez go to Bellehaven and speak to Dr. Walkers doctor at Bellehaven and ask about Jeremy, he tells them that it is Dr. Walker’s alternate identity. Dr. Walker has multiple personality disorder. Jeremy is Dr. Walker.
Frank is with Sid and Abigail who say that someone on the mayor’s detail that put out word when Frank got in his ride. A decision was made to detour through those specific blocks, two homeless shelters, three liquor stores, four weed shops, and a methadone clinic within a foot of that intersection. And the man who jumped on the SUV was known to be triggered by official vehicles. Their may have been some encouragement and they have names of the officers involved. As stupid as that stunt was, Frank is not throwing anyone under the bus.
Janko and Badillo go see Alissa Martin, she was assaulted two months ago, Janko tells her they have someone in custody who may have assaulted her. She says no way, she doesn’t want him coming after her again. Janko notices a tattoo on her wrist, it is the same one that Louise Johnson had and its a common symbol from a gang called the Flatbush Disciples. And, turns out Tyler Green is also a member of the gang.
Frank goes back to see Mayor Chase, he says he is dealing with the cops who did the set up. Chase says he is dedicating a new intake facility for their homeless and mentally challenged tomorrow afternoon. Either he joins him at the podium and sings his praises like the national anthem or his cops will be ferreted out and named to the press.
Danny is patrolling Dr. Walker’s house, he didn’t show up for work, Curatola knocks on his window and joins him. Danny gets a call, they found another victim.
The third victim is Cassandra Petsanas, 23 years old and looks like Dr. Walkers phone pinged a half a mile from there so he was in he vicinity. Dr. Walker called he squad looking for Danny, he saw him outside his house and wanted to wish him a good night.
Erin tells Tyler Green’s lawyer that his client is looking at 5-10. He tells her that she doesn’t have enough to win this.
Baez says they found match from the hair, Miriam Walker, 66 years old, she went missing seven years ago. Dr. Walkers mom lived with him when she went missing, but they don’t have a body. Danny says that is how they are going to catch him. They are going to play his game.
Danny is with Dr. Walker, he has the sample of hair in his hands, he says it belongs to his mother, that is what the DNA says. Dr. Walker gets upset and leaves the room. Baez tells Danny she has good news, the mother had a house in Manituk and she got a warrant.
Janko and Badillo go back to see Louise Johnson, she say she got beat up because she wanted to get out of the gang. Tyler Green said the only way someone leaves if they are in a body bag.
Frank is with Archbishop Kevin Kearns at Mayor Chase’s press conference, Frank is called up but Kearns gets up instead and blesses the partnership. Later, when the three are alone, Kearns tells them to work together and let the political grandstanding go. He makes them shake hands and he reminds Chase that he should respect Frank.
At Mrs. Walker’s house, somebody has been using the place, there is food in the fridge and the electricity has been turned on. A cadaver dog is going crazy, freaking out near a wall in the basement. Danny uses a crowbar to break the wall and they find Mrs. Walker’s corpse.
In court, the jury agreed to indict Tyler Green, two counts of attempted murder and one count of assault. Erin makes a statement to the press, she tells them Tyler is looking at 25 years, and she says she will not be running for candidacy, she is where she is needed for now.
Inside Mrs. Walkers’ house there was a book found, and in it Danny finds out that Dr. Walker worked for Con Electric, that is how he got into the girls places, he wore a uniform. Danny calls Caratula to tell her and her lights go out, then, all of a sudden, someone comes from behind and attacks her, it is Dr. Walker. Danny and Baez run over there, worried when she said the lights went out, they find her on the floor, she is ok, Danny runs out after Dr. Walker but doesn’t catch him.
At the family dinner, Erin says that she is happy with her decision. Frank says he is a humble civil servant trying to get a long with everyone. And, he is happy to have all the family together at one table today. They join each other in saying grace.
