Tonight’s CSI: Vegas episode begins with a stabbing that is called in to 911, the victim is the one calling, his name is Mike Webber. He says he got into it with a loud mouth in a bar. All of a sudden, the victim falls down in a sitting position to the ground. When the ambulance arrives he is flat on his back and there is no response, no pulse. He is dead.

Joshua and Chris are on the scene, so is Serena. Allie calls, she wants to bring Auerbach in today, Max said to bring her in when she was back, and she is back. Serena agrees to do it with Allie. The victim, has a flyer on him from an eating contest, maybe he was a contestant. And, there seems to be a lot of BBQ sauce on the victim.

Max is in the morgue with Dr. Milton Hudson, she thanks him for filling in while their ME is away. They have Mike Webber’s body his stomach was three times the size and he had 15 pounds of food inside, all pulled pork.

Serena meets up Allie, but she doesn’t bring backup. Serena still doesn’t think they should bring in Auerbach without solid evidence. She thinks they should get a search warrant fist and search the house. All of a sudden, Auerbach arrives, but Serena tells her they should do it the right way.

Joshua sees some blood on the ground that looks like a tear drop, he tells Chris that it means that Mike Webber was walking. If they follow the trail, they might find out where Mike came from. They proceed, and it brings them to a dumpster. Joshua tells Chris it is his to do, he’s got to go.

The eating contest is actually Gerge-A-Palooza and we get a glimpse of a contest in progress, this one requires the contestants to eat jumbo shrimp. Joshua walks in and sees the contest starting.

Chis sin the dumpster, he finds a knife. Meanwhile, there is a winner of the contest, he ate 14 pounds of shrimp.

Joshua goes to speak to the host, Mr. Jason Ketchum, of the contest and tells him that Mike Webber was killed. Mike ate ate 48 sandwiches and 32 ounces of beer yesterday when he competed, but he lost. He was upset, said a few things and left with is wife. Joshua asks him for his left show, to see if the print matches the one at the scene. Joshua and Serena go to see Mike’s wife, she said her husband was feeling like a failure because he lost.

Witnesses say that Mike was having an argument with a repeat offender near the scene, Calvin Dupree – she calls Max to tell her.

Ketchum’s show print is not a match and the knife that Chris found, has no prints or useable DNA. But, Beau does a stabbing test to see if the mark would be the same as the one used to stab Mike.

Max and Joshua bring in Calvin, they tell him the knife found in the dumpster matched the one that stabbed Mike. And, Calvin was convicted four years ago of assault, and a picture of the stab would shows it is also the same knife that killed Mike. Also, the show print matches a shoe that they found in his apartment. Calvin says Mike came after him. They got into it and the bartender threw them out. Mike was all messed up, twitchy and sweaty, Calvin says he protected himself.

Back in the morgue, Mike’s stomach was removed, it weighed 17 pounds. He didn’t bleed out. The stabbing didn’t kill him, the pulled pork acted like a shield. There is a contusion on his right knee and discolouration on his big toe, and the same discoloration on his left hand. After one more test, it is determined that Mike wasn’t just stabbed, he was poisoned.

The poison starts with inky cap mushrooms and alcohol. There hasn’t been a death associated with it, but it could do it.

Allie tells Max she is trying to get a search warrant for Auerbach’s house.

Beau tells Joshua that he tested 32 sandwiches from the hotel where the contest is held and there are no inky cap mushrooms in them. Looks like he was poisoned before he participated in the contest. Beau did find something, he found a small jewel, one similar to the that Rita has in one of her teeth, she is one of the champion eaters in the contest, and a bunch of the burgers weighed less than the others, that is why she won, hers were smaller than the other contestants. Joshua and Serena go have a chat with Rita. Ketchum is there and he says no way did Rita cheat. Serena says that rigging a contest is illegal, Ketchum asks for a lawyer and says he is advising Rita to do the same.

Back to Mike’s wife, Joshua tells her that her husband ingested something poisonous before the contest.

Allie got the warrant, she and Serena show up at Auerbach’s house. There is no answer so Serena forces her way in. They find the office, but nobody is around. Allie starts searching. Serena goes to look around the house, she notices a hot cup of liquid and shouts to Allie that Auerbach is there. All of a sudden, the lights go out, the car pulls out of the driveway, Auerbach is on the run.

Auerbach got away, Allie is still searching. Joshua is at the house and so is Max. Auerbach has a mother and sister, they are going to check that out.

Back to the inky caps, Mike ingested them somewhere between 8 and 10 in the morning the day of the contest. His geo location from his phone, he was in his hotel room, in the east wing of the hotel. Joshua and Max call in Mike’s wife, she was with him that morning, she now says Mike had a protein smoothy. Max tells her that she looks really uncomfortable. His wife says she killed Mike. He was hurting himself so much from these competitions. He was not working, he didn’t see his friends and he was depressed. He said if he loss the next completion he would stop. She knows about Inky mushrooms, she ground them up and put them in his shake, she just wanted him to be sick, not kill him.

Joshua is still skeptical that the inky mushroom killed Mike, if it did, he would be the first person. He goes to see Dr. Hudson and he wants to prove a theory that he has, that the inky mushrooms won’t kill him, so he eats some to prove it. Joshua goes through a rough time, but it doesn’t kill him.

Allie and Chris test a sample of dirt and frats found at Auerbach’s house, there is Charleston Beardtongue in it, which grows in the spring mountains. Auerbach doesn’t own or rent in that area, but Allie and Serena are heading there anyway.

Joshua and Dr. Hudson head back to the scene of the crime where Joshua notices some water on the ground and an electrical cord, he tells Dr. Hudson to be careful. Then he remembers that Mike had a whole in his shoe, he thinks he was electrocuted. The marks on his hand, knee and toe could be low voltage electrocution. Dr. Hudson is on board with the theory, they tell Max. Cause of death is electrocution. Mike’s wife will be released. Dr. Hudson says he has never seen a man solve a murder three times.

They got a lead on Auerbach, she has a cottage in spring mountains, her mother owns it. The team heads out and all storm in the house. Auerbach is not the silver ink killer, she is hung by one foot from a pole and dead, that is no suicide.

THE END!
