In tonight’s #DWTS episode, it was a Disney themed night! They were celebrating the hundred year anniversary of the wonderful world of Disney. Everyone got to see performances dedicated to the wonderful world of Disney.

There to open the show was a wonderful dance dedicated to the amazing song, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”. It comes from the movie Encanto. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a great movie that deserves a watch and even if you did see it then it deserves a rewatch. The performance itself was beautiful come to life.

The rest of the night however had a problem. The contestants this season weren’t really prepared for any dancing much less themed dancing. Which is why its normally left to the professionals. There were some hits. There were some misses. Up first was the hit formerly known as Mauricio. Mauricio was best known for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. He was married to Kyle and sadly they recently separated. The word “divorce” was also thrown around. This could be the end of their marriage only it seems to have been the starting point of Mauricio’s dancing career.

He joined the show. Now he was dancing the Paso Doble with great style. His performance was dedicated to the movie, Fantasia. A true Disney classic. And thankfully he improved since the last performance. Mauricio and his dancing partner Emma received some well-deserved praise tonight. They looked great. They made people smile and his scores tonight were higher than they have been in the past. He received one seven from Carrie Ann. The guys gave him two sixes. It didn’t seem like much, but it really is a step up for him.

Next up was Mira Sorvino. The award winning actress and her partner Gleb were another hit. They danced the Waltz dedicated to Cinderella. Mira looked so beautiful in the blue ballgown that it was hard to take your eyes off her during her performance. It was only later that everyone noticed her wrist had been bandaged. She had apparently tried to do some spins on her own and she fell. She hasn’t taken it to a doctor yet. She was just hoping it was a sprain and dancing in the meantime. And tonight was her best night.

Mira scored three sevens tonight. It was her highest score to date. She was getting better with each dance and even the judges thought so. They all wanted her to keep that momentum. Up next was Barry Williams. He was another actor. He was best known for his breakout role in The Brady Brunch. A show that’s probably still paying dividends to this day. Barry and his partner Peta were given Jazz tonight. It was right up Barry’s field. He once danced with Fosse and, while he improved tonight, the dance was very much a miss.

Barry fumbled quite a lot during his tribute dance to Lady and the Tramp. It was like he forgot where to put his hands. He tangled up Peta and he almost dropped her. He won six in the all around tonight. The judges saw room for growth and so did Barry himself. Next up was Jason Mraz. Jason had a wonderful song inspired by Disney. He therefore loved the theme tonight. The award-winning singer/songwriter was incredibly talented and he’s been dominating in the competition. He won two nines last week. And tonight he danced the Foxtrot with his partner Daniella.

It was dedicated to Aladdin. Jason has never danced before. He was usually playing a guitar during his performances and so this one tonight tripped him up. He was still pretty darn good. It was just a moment here and there that you could see he lost confidence. It really was a whole new world for him. Only he still got three eights. Thereby proving his most insecure dance was still leagues better than most of the others. Jason’s performance was the one to beat out of the night so far. He was a hit. Next up was Lele Pons. She was also a hit. The influencer and social media personality has had a rocky start on the show.

Lele was good. Sometimes too enthusiastic because she forgets the movements. She’s since worked on that and she danced the Rumba with Brandon tonight. Her performance was dedicated to the Lion King. She took in and worked on every bit that Bruno criticized last time. He was so happy with her tonight that he and Carrie Ann as well kept talking over Derek. Derek barely got any time to speak. He had to rush through his comments at the end. He was happy for her. He ended up giving her a seven and the same went for Carrie Ann. And Bruno gave her, her first eight of the season.

Next up was Alyson Hannigan. The amazing actress has been working since she was a teenager. She was known for several famous tv shows like How I Met Your Mother and Buffy and she brought great energy to the show. She always has the biggest smile. She just wasn’t the best dancer. She was a miss tonight. Alyson was given Jazz and that seemed a hard one tonight. She and her partner Sasha dedicated their dance to Beauty and the Beast. Rather than give her the Waltz she deserves, they gave her Jazz to go along with “Be Our Guest”.

Alyson got to play a candelabra. But she lost the musicality of the dance. It was the one thing that all the judges spotted and so tonight was a miss. She still got sixes all around. She simply needs a few more tries to improve. Up next was Harry Jowsey. He was another reality tv star. He was on Too Hot To Handle. He may not have found love there only he was warming up to his dance partner. Rylee was beautiful. She was also super nice. She put him at ease and they had their best performance to date with the Quick Step.

Their performance was dedicated to Toy Story. It also was dedicated to Harry’s friend that died by suicide. It was a very fitting tribute for his friend. They danced along to “You Got A Friend in Me”. It was upbeat and it was cheerful. Tonight was a hit for Harry. He scored all sevens from the judges. It was one of his best nights so far. But it was quickly beaten by the dance that came on right afterwards. Xochitl Gomez was up next. She’s been a strong contender from the very beginning. She was also inspired tonight because she was born literally next to the Disney studio in Hollywood.

The actress best known for her role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was a great dancer. She came out strong and maintained that tonight with her Paso Doble with Val. Their dance was dedicated to Coco. It was fast. It was flawless. It was her best night to date and she got a high score. Xochitl won nines across the board. Her first nine in the competition and she got three of them. She even beat out Jason. And so she was the toughest act to follow, which was unfortunate for a certain NFL Running Back.

Adrian Peterson was up next. He’s struggled with practically every dance he’s been given. He walks instead of dances sometimes and he’s thankfully improved on that to the point that he actually started dancing lately. He was given the Viennese Waltz. It was a very gentle dance. It was dedicated to Mickey Mouse. It was also best performance since the start. Which is why his best shouldn’t be judged in comparison to anything else. It was good for him. It was good for the judges. He and Britt got sevens. And that was enough for them.

Next up was Ariana Madix. She was a reality tv star best known for Vanderpump Rules. She’s also best known for the huge breakup she had with her long-term boyfriend. He’s otherwise known as the cheating loser. Now back to Ariana. She and Pasha danced Contemporary tonight. It was dedicated to Frozen 2. Ariana got a lot more freedom with this dance than the ones that came before and her joy translated into her best performance so far. She won two eights. She also won her first nine from Derek.

Last up was Charity Lawson. She was the woman in charge on the latest season of The Bachelorette. She’s another strong contender. She’s been consistently getting better with each performance. She aimed for nines with her Waltz tonight. She and Artem dedicated their performance to Little Mermaid. Charity was happy that someone that looks like her got to be a Disney princess. So, she gave it her all tonight. And she was good, her waltz helped give her another amazing score but it was eight all around.

No nines for Charity tonight. It was a little disappointing only she didn’t go home tonight. The person leaving tonight turned out to be Adrian. Adrian had his best night, but it just wasn’t good enough to stay.

THE END!
