In tonight’s #DWTS episode, the theme tonight was “Most Memorable Year”! Which was quite true for many of the contestants. This year has been the most memorable year. There’s been breakups, death of friends, and a new chance at love and that was just this season of contestants.

They’ve all been through so much. These men and women were asked to come up with dances that resonated their most memorable year. For Mira, it was 2004. It was the year she first became a mom. Her daughter was a surprise that happily changed her whole world view. Her eldest daughter now is a Contemporary dancer in a dancing company.

Mira said her eldest has far surpassed her when it comes to dancing. Only Mira still remembers taking her to the toddler dance classes. Her daughter was the big reason why she joined this season and so she wanted to do something to honor her eldest tonight. Mira danced to “Time After Time” in a Contemporary number. She and her partner Gleb went on to score twenty points tonight. They won sevens from Carrie Anne and Bruno. They won an eight from Derek. They had really impressed Derek with all the heart they put into the dance. And that Mira’s daughter also got to dance with them was a cherry on top.

Ariana went next. Her most memorable year was this year. She had one of the biggest breakups of all time with her long-term partner. It was known as “Scandoval”! It left many tuning in, but it was more than just a storyline for Ariana. Ariana’s boyfriend of nine years cheated on her with her friend. Her close friend. The cheating apparently started when Ariana was out of town because she was attending her grandmother’s funeral. Her ex is a true scumbag. Ariana sees that now and she was ready to heal.

Ariana danced Viennese Waltz with Pasha tonight. It was beautiful. It had a great message. Sure, there were some bumps. Carrie Anne later pointed those out to everyone and she rightly got booed for it. Carrie Anne must have been convinced because she later gave the two an eight. Derek and Bruno did the same. Ariana was walking away with score of twenty-four tonight. Next up was Charity. Charity’s biggest year was 2022. She just finished grad school, she got out of a toxic relationship, and she joined “the Bachelor” which in turn led to her being the most recent Bachelorette.

Charity’s turn as Bachelorette led her to Dotun. He was her fiancé and he made her so happy. It was his idea for her to join this season of “DWTS”. Dotun remembered how much she loves to dance and he signed her up for the show. Charity danced in honor of her lowest points because it led to her happiest moments. She danced Contemporary with her partner Artem. The choreography was the standout of the night. The judges sang their praises tonight. Carrie Anne said there’s always one dance that stands out in the whole season. And she thought this season that dance belonged to Charity and Artem.

Carrie Anne would later give these two the first ten of the season. Derek and Bruno gave her a nine and that left her with twenty-eight out of thirty points. The highest score till this point. The other contestants had to learn to up their game after that one. Alyson was up next. Her most memorable year is 2003. It was the year she met her husband. They met through work. They’re both actors. Alyson said everything changed after she met her husband. They’ve been together for twenty years now and it was still getting better with each year.

Alyson said her husband makes her feel so loved and protected that she wouldn’t trade him for the world. She dedicated her dance tonight to him. She danced the Viennese Waltz with Sasha. She danced to the song “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. She said that song best describes her husband. Her dance was emotion-filled. It was one of her best performances since joining the show. It also gave her a good score. She won sevens all around. She has a score of twenty-one. Alyson said she was tempted to go gambling after getting that score.

Next up was Harry. Harry danced a Contemporary number with Rylee tonight. The social media and reality tv star said his most memorable year was this year. He was thrust into the limelight this year. He received a lot of backlash after he went on reality tv. They were calling him the worst person in Australia. They said he was making them look bad. They also wished death upon him and his whole family. They even announced the death of his mother one time. It scared the life out of him. He thought it was true until he got in touch with his mom. It was a nasty rumor only it helped him learn to disengage from social media every once in a while.

Harry wanted to dedicate his dance to the year he regained his confidence. He started out as a poor dancer. He was slowly getting better. Just not fast enough for the judges. The judges gave him sixes all around. He walks away with a score of eighteen points. It was a good score for him. It was something he took pride in and so none were going to diminish that. This year was also a memorable year for DWTS because they lost Len Goodman. They did a tribute to him tonight. They’ve had dancers from all thirty-two seasons of the show come in to pay tribute to him.

Derek even danced with her sister tonight in honor of his late mentor. They all got to dance in honor of Len tonight. It was very beautiful. Some of them were even moved to tears. After such a wonderful tribute, Jason had gotten his chance to dance. He danced the Quick Step with Daniella. His most memorable year was 1999. It was the year he was living in his hometown and working as a janitor at an elementary school when suddenly he decided to pursue music. It wasn’t until he was driving out of Texas that he realized leaving everything wasn’t as scary as he thought. He drove to LA and he gained confidence each mile along the way.

Now Jason was disappointed with his score last week. He knew he was better than that. He decided to give the Quick Step his all and it showed tonight. His movements appeared effortless. The judges were all very proud of him. They were all glad that last week was a fluke. He was back to his old self and they noticed that. Apparently, dancing to 1999 brought out the best in him. Jason got a score of twenty-seven. He won nines all around. And he wanted to dance his way to an eventual ten after this.

Lele was up next. She won her first eight last week. It was from Bruno and so she wanted to top that score tonight. She chose 2020 as her most memorable year. It was the year that she released a docuseries about her struggles with her own mental health. It seems a fan of hers had watched it and it convinced her to go therapy. She later told Lele that she gave her the push to get help. It also made Lele realize that she could use her powers to help people. And once she did start getting help, everything else fell into place.

She met her husband. She hasn’t seen him in almost two months because she’s been in LA and he’s in Miami only he surprised her tonight. He flew out to see her. And her dance was in part dedicated to him. To him loving her even if she wasn’t perfect. She danced Contemporary tonight with Brandon. Her dance tonight showed overall progress. Derek said he felt it in her movements. He felt her story and so did the others. Carrie Anne said that was her best dance. Bruno went on to give her an eight tonight. So did the others. She has a score of twenty-four and so she was indeed improving with every week.

Xochitl was up next. Her most memorable year was 2021. It was the year that she got to be the first Latina superhero in the Marvel franchise. It was also the year she missed out on her Quinceanera. She eventually put on a ball gown and just skateboarded around LA. Luckily, it was LA and so she didn’t stick out. Only tonight got to be her Quinceanera. She got to wear a huge ballgown and she dance the Viennese Waltz with Val. They were coming off of their best score to date. They hoped to continue the trend tonight. And then Carrie Anne started being a hater.

Carrie Anne said she saw some foibles tonight. Its why she couldn’t give them a perfect score. She gave them a nine. Derek who thankfully didn’t see any flaws had gone on to give her the second ten of the night. Bruno then wrapped things up by giving them a nine as well. They have a score of twenty-eight out of thirty. They were tied with Charity and Artem for the highest score of the night. And luckily, everyone kept up that momentum.

There was Mauricio and then there was Barry. Neither of them were the best dancers this season. But they both got a lot of heart. Mauricio was up first. His most memorable year was 1996. It was a year of change for him. He was a married man with two small kids at the time and then he got fired. His wife was clipping coupons to survive. He just felt like a failure for being unable to provide for his family. It took his wife reminding him that he always dreamed of going into real estate one day for him to realize that he did still have options.

Mauricio got his real estate license. He became a high-end realtor. He was able to support his family and it was while he was finally living out his dream. Mauricio danced Contemporary with Emma tonight. It was perhaps his best performance to date. Tonight showed he was becoming a dancer. He won eights all around. He had a score of twenty-four and it’s his highest score. Then Barry came along. Sweet, sweet Barry. He danced the Paso Doble with Peta tonight. He said his most memorable year was 1968.

It was the year he became a heartthrob. It was also the year he discovered his love of motorcycles. He loves the song “Born to Be Wild’ because it reminded him of the feeling of riding his motorcycle. Barry chose that song to go along with his Paso Doble tonight. He and Peta put their best foot forward and it showed. This was perhaps Barry’s best dance. He kept up. He didn’t lose track of his arms. And even Derek said Len would have loved that dance. It was clean and true to the Paso Doble. He won eights all around and has a score of twenty-four.

And then the final tallies came in. Barry was one of the first people to be safe. Mauricio wasn’t long after him. The final three came down to Alyson, Mira, and Harry. The dancers going home tonight were Mira and her partner, Gleb. But they at least left on a high note.

THE END!
