Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, December 29, reveals that Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann) ran into Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) and Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) in the park, where all four of them were dressed up for New Year’s Eve.
Brady annoyed Tate by giving Theresa updates on his date with Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis), but she was happy about him having fun tonight.
Once Tate took off, Brady revealed that his “date” with Rachel Black (Finley Rose McKinley) fell through since Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) took her out of town for the weekend.
Theresa insisted Brady should tag along to the party at The Bistro, so he finally caved in.
At the DiMera mansion on Friday’s Days episode, Holly primped for her date with Tate and pulled a tiny bag of pills out of her drawer.
When Nicole Walker-DiMera (Arianne Zucker) entered unexpectedly, Holly hid the pill baggie in her hand and ultimately stuffed it in her robe pocket.
Nicole helped Holly pick a dress for the evening and assured her daughter that she was in a good place due to her earlier therapy session.
Downstairs on Friday’s DOOL show, Nicole opened the door to Tate, who was blown away over how beautiful Holly looked.
Nicole told Holly to be back by 2:00 a.m. and headed into the living room, where she planned to have a quiet night in with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel).
Back with Holly, she planted a kiss on Tate so there wouldn’t be any awkwardness at midnight over whether they’d lock lips. Holly assured Tate that they definitely would, so he couldn’t wait until midnight for another smooch.
Chad eventually stopped by the DiMera mansion to thank EJ for letting him use the jet to take the kids to Boston. Nicole invited Chad to wait since EJ was dealing with some work calls in the other room.
That led to Chad offering sympathy for Nicole’s loss and getting some sympathy in return over his breakup with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein).
Chad also ran into Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) outside the pub, where Leo made his pitch to get his old job back as “Lady Whistleblower.”
Although Chad didn’t have a problem with it, he insisted it wasn’t his call and left the decision in Everett Lynch’s (Blake Berris) hands.
When the topic of Chad’s breakup arose, Leo flashed back to watching Stephanie slinking out of the pub after spending the night there.
Leo wondered exactly when the split happened, but Chad insisted it was none of Leo’s business.
In Everett’s suite, Stephanie helped him with his cufflinks and realized they were ones that she’d given him.
Everett confirmed they were his favorite pair and headed off to The Bistro to do some schmoozing with Stephanie.
At The Bistro, Tate and Holly bumped into Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens), so Chanel and Johnny seemed pleased over the teens having a good time.
Holly led Tate off to dance and then suggested a way to make the night even more fun. When Holly pulled the pills out of her purse, Tate asked if she was crazy and didn’t know she was into that sort of thing.
Holly reminded Tate that she offered him weed on his first day back in Salem.
Although Holly downplayed the drugs as some ADHD meds she got from someone at school, Tate pointed out his parents were addicts and refused to partake.
At one point, Theresa appeared and caused Holly to hastily conceal the pills in her purse. Once Theresa rejoined the rest of the partygoers, Tate stood his ground on not accepting Holly’s drugs.
Holly called him “Mr. Goody Two-Shoes” before heading off to the ladies’ room, so Tate wound up looking for her soon after.
In a moment alone with Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash), Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) filled him in on Harris Michaels’ (Steve Burton) wrong assumption about their affair and how she went along with it.
Stefan wasn’t thrilled about people thinking he was cheating on Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus), but he ultimately agreed it was a good cover.
Once an alert came in on Stefan’s phone, he shared the news of two fatal teen overdoses due to laced cocaine.
Stefan tried to act like they weren’t drug dealers since they didn’t know exactly what was in the shipments, but Ava said to keep telling himself that!
At the party later, Stefan objected when Ava touched his arm and acted like there was no need to go public with the affair charade.
Once Stephanie brought Everett to the party, she introduced him to some of the other guests and helped him network.
As for Alex, he pulled Brady aside and urged him to voice his support for Theresa in her new role at Bella Magazine.
Brady rejoined Theresa and told her that he was there to help since he had experience with Bella.
If Theresa was feeling insecure or had any questions, Brady was happy to pitch in. Theresa thought that offer was insulting, so she lashed out at Brady and stomped off.
As for Leo, he made a big splash at the party by dancing around in his cape. Leo also convinced Everett to give him his job back, but Everett was adamant about Leo having reliable sources for his scoops.
At Xander Cook’s (Paul Telfer) place on Friday’s Days episode, he opened the door to Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), who wanted to kiss Victoria Horton-Cook before she joined the New Year’s Eve bash.
When Sarah realized Victoria was running a fever, she asked Xander to get the baby acetaminophen and realized he didn’t have any.
Xander rushed out to get some baby acetaminophen from the store and eventually brought it back for Victoria. Sarah administered it and helped get Victoria’s temperature down.
Xander suggested there was still time for Sarah to pop in the party, but she wanted to stay there with both Xander and their daughter.
Once midnight arrived and the fireworks started up outside, Xander and Sarah shared a kiss by the window.
Johnny also made out with Chanel on Friday’s Days episode and planned to take her home with him.
In the town square, Everett pulled Stephanie into a lip lock as well. Stephanie kissed Everett back as Chad appeared nearby and witnessed it.
While Brady sulked at a table alone, Alex and Theresa enjoyed a smooch to ring in the new year. Nearby, Ava and Stefan shared some quick, awkward kisses on the cheek.
Nicole also called out to EJ at home and urged him to come join her since the ball was about to drop.
Finally, Tate found Holly unconscious behind The Bistro and realized she was having a terrible reaction to the tainted drugs.
Holly was seemingly having a seizure and foaming at the mouth, so Tate became frantic over his discovery.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Tate will face some cop trouble thanks to this derailed New Year’s Eve, so stay tuned.
