Days of Our Lives Recap: Friday, March 3 – Sarah Leaving Town with Baby Secret – Xander Signs New Divorce Papers

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, March 3, reveals that Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) demanded answers from Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) since he thought it was a done deal that he’d be taking over for Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) as Titan’s CEO.

Maggie admitted that Alex was indeed set to take over until Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) called Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) looking for a comment on his scandalous gossip story.

The optics weren’t good on Alex’s wild personal life, so Victor had put another Kiriakis in charge.

On Friday’s Days episode, Alex ran down the list of possibilities and briefly feared Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) was on the throne, but Maggie admitted she was taking over instead.

That left Alex scoffing over Maggie not having any experience, but she said she’d run successful restaurants and had picked up a thing or two by being married to Victor for a decade.

Plus, Maggie was counting on Alex’s help as her right-hand man, but he continued to complain and worried she didn’t have the killer instinct needed.

After Maggie said Alex was fired, he flipped out until she revealed she was only joking.

Maggie felt they had a lot of work to do and wondered if she could count on Alex’s support, so he caved in and celebrated with her over drinks – though Maggie naturally had a sparkling cider.

At Xander’s motel room, he learned that a clerk misplaced the divorce paperwork, so Xander and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) needed to sign new papers now.

Xander acted like he needed to read them over first, so Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) said to suit himself.

In Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) motel room, Leo gave her a pep talk about Xander before Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) showed up.

Jack gave Gwen the keys to The Spectator and got her to promise she’d try to live up to the standard he’d set at the paper.

After Jack said he’d always love Gwen, he hoped they could stop the cycle of disappointing each other by putting some distance between them.

Jack was headed back to Boston with Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Cady McClain), but Gwen told her dad that she loved him too before he left.

Later, Gwen shared a meal with Leo in the town square, where Justin delivered the news of the misplaced divorce papers and how Xander was stalling on signing them.

That left Gwen worried about Xander and Sarah changing their minds.

At the hospital on Friday’s Days episode, Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) mistakenly assumed Sarah was pregnant with his baby and thought this changed things for them.

Sarah admitted she was carrying Xander’s baby instead based on the timing of her pregnancy.

Rex felt like an idiot for jumping to the wrong conclusion, but Sarah understood that he just got carried away.

As Sarah processed the fact that she was having Xander’s child, she was a mess since this was supposed to be her fresh start.

Rex hinted that he could help with that and offered updates on the job he recommended her for at the hospital in Chicago.

Sarah checked out the details of the position on Rex’s phone and thought it was the perfect fit.

When Xander arrived, Sarah made up an excuse about consulting with Rex on a case before speaking to Xander alone.

Xander hoped that the divorce paper issue was a sign from the universe that maybe they should rethink this decision and give their marriage another chance.

Sarah pointed to a different sign instead and mentioned the job offer in Chicago that she’d decided to take.

Since Sarah was leaving for Chicago, she signed the new divorce papers – and Xander signed them too before guessing this was goodbye.

Afterward on Friday’s DOOL show, Rex met back up with Sarah and realized she hadn’t told Xander about the baby.

Sarah needed time to decide what to do without Xander breathing down her neck, so she thought leaving town with this secret was the solution.

Back with Xander, he moped over to Gwen and Leo’s table in the town square.

Xander confirmed that he’d signed new divorce papers along with Sarah, so they weren’t getting back together.

At the Kiriakis mansion on Friday’s Days episode, Justin came home and was taken aback to learn Maggie scored the Titan throne instead of Alex.

At the Horton house, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) was back from a cruise and learned Jack had been blackmailed into signing over The Spectator to Gwen and Xander.

That led to Julie realizing this was about Jennifer running down Gwen with her car.

Jennifer was surprised to learn Gwen spilled that secret to Julie back at Christmas.

Although Julie wanted to confront Gwen and put a stop to this, Jennifer shut down the idea.

Soon after, Jack brought Jennifer and Julie up to speed on his latest conversation with Gwen.

Jack and Jennifer ultimately headed back to Boston since the small newspaper there still needed them, but they acknowledged that they’d always have a home in Salem.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Gwen and Xander will face challenges at The Spectator in the meantime, so stay tuned to DOOL.
