Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, August 14, reveals that Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) opened some wedding gifts at the DiMera mansion – including some matching bulletproof vests from Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).
When Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) showed up with a gift of his own, Gabi was suspicious of his agenda. Since Gabi heard Li was screwing the DA, she assumed he felt safe from prosecution.
Li argued that he wasn’t sleeping with Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) – though he never heard any complaints from Gabi in that department.
Although Li claimed he was just trying to move forward, Gabi struggled to buy it and shut the door on him.
Next on Monday’s Days episode, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) spoke with Melinda alone and pushed her to put Li behind bars.
Melinda argued that she couldn’t do it without proof, but Stefan worried that her personal feelings were getting in the way.
Stefan mentioned reading about Melinda “canoodling” with Li in Lady Whistleblower’s column, so Melinda explained their recent dates – including the part where Li busted her for trying to record a confession.
However, Stefan still felt that Melinda was creative and could find a way to lock Li up.
Once Stefan came home, he heard about Li’s visit to drop off a gift. Gabi flipped out when she realized the present was ticking and feared there was an explosive device inside.
It turned out to just be a clock, but Gabi pointed out that was bad luck in Chinese culture and essentially meant you were wishing someone’s demise.
At Small Bar, Li ran into Melinda and apologized for bailing on her the other night. Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) got inside Li’s head about how he couldn’t trust Melinda, so he was sorry about that.
Melinda offered reassurance about believing Li was innocent, but she flashed back to Stefan pressuring her to get creative for a conviction.
Li also recalled Gabi suggesting he was cozying up to Melinda to avoid prosecution, but he shared a toast with Melinda as they started over and claimed they no longer had agendas.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Monday’s Days episode, Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) was distraught over the news of Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) missing plane.
Since Victor was trying to keep the location of Bo Brady’s (Peter Reckell) facility quiet, he didn’t file a flight plan or tell Maggie where he was going.
Maggie thought Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) might be able to contact Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso) for information, so she got him on the phone and explained the missing plane dilemma.
Shawn called Hope and left a voicemail, so she eventually called back to admit that Victor actually left three days ago. It was earlier than expected – and Victor was vague about his plans.
According to Hope, Victor seemed like he had something weighing on him before he left, so Shawn assumed maybe that was a factor in all this.
After Shawn relayed what he learned to Belle Brady (Martha Madison), he worried he might never be able to make amends with Victor, who blamed him for what happened to Bo.
At home on Monday’s DOOL show, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) shoved Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) away following his kiss and made it clear that she was with Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) now.
Brady wanted to talk Chloe out of accepting Xander’s proposal and ran down the list of his horrible crimes.
Even so, Chloe had seen a gentler side of Xander and confirmed that he was the man she wanted to be with now, so friendship was all she could offer Brady.
After Brady said he’d try to understand that, Xander came home and assumed Brady was there to talk Chloe out of marrying him. Brady confessed that was true, but Chloe had a mind of her own.
When Xander revealed that Victor’s plane was missing, that left Brady concerned.
Once Shawn’s latest news made it back to the Kiriakis mansion, Maggie was an emotional wreck and decided to lie down for a while.
Soon after, Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) received updates from Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) as well.
The wreckage of the Titan jet was found in the Mediterranean with no info on survivors, so Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans) consoled Justin with a warm embrace.
