Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, October 5, reveals that Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) showed up at the Kiriakis mansion, where she put Sarah Horton Brady (Linsey Godfrey) on full blast.
Kate accused Sarah of using Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) and putting a target on his back now that Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) was so riled up.
Sarah insisted it was Rex’s idea to lie about Victoria’s paternity, but Kate still felt like Sarah was letting Rex believe they’d have a romantic future and manipulating him through his feelings.
At Xander’s apartment on Thursday’s Days episode, he denied sending the text that summoned Rex there.
Rex didn’t believe Xander and argued with him until Bronson (Anthony Molinari) the disguised hitman knocked Rex out from behind.
Bronson pulled a gun on Xander, who eventually realized EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) must’ve sent him.
The plan was to put the weapon in Rex’s hand and let him take the fall once Bronson was long gone.
At the DiMera mansion on Thursday’s DOOL show, EJ embraced Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) and marveled over her actually being alive.
Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) whispered to Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) about how they needed to get the confession they promised Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) while he was wearing a wire.
Ava agreed this was their chance since EJ was emotional and vulnerable, so she got Susan’s attention.
After Ava urged Susan to get an apology out of her son, Susan pushed EJ to confess his sins and seek forgiveness.
EJ suddenly realized he had to stop the hit on Xander, so he made an excuse and ran out of the room.
Ava was disappointed and privately told Harris that was their only chance to get a confession out of EJ.
However, Ava took this opportunity to let Susan know she was truly sorry for the car crash and for dragging Susan into her feud with EJ.
Susan forgave Ava and learned that she’d probably be sent back to Bayview.
At the hospital, Marlena was busy with paperwork when someone showed up at the door. Without looking up, Marlena told the person who entered to take a seat.
When Marlena finally saw that Susan was right in front of her, she was stunned.
Marlena hugged Susan and heard about her London ordeal, so she was glad to know her friend was finally safe.
At the Salem PD, Ava entered the interrogation room and admired Harris’ abs as he tried to remove the wire. Once Ava helped pull the tape off, she touched hands with Harris as they shared a little moment.
Harris also insisted on going back to Bayview with Ava since he felt that Marlena would give her approval.
Back at Xander’s apartment, EJ rushed in and stopped Bronson from firing at Xander. After EJ assured Bronson that he’d still get his money, he sent the hitman on his way.
Xander thanked EJ for coming to his rescue and got updates on Susan’s survival being the reason why.
Once Xander started calling the cops, EJ suggested a deal now that Susan was back and could testify about Xander’s involvement in her kidnapping.
Since EJ was willing to talk Susan out of taking Xander down, Xander agreed not to rat him out over the hitman.
After EJ left, Xander woke Rex up and tried to pretend he passed out during their fight.
Rex thought Xander had come after him and left in a huff after warning Xander away from Sarah as well as Victoria.
When Rex returned to the Kiriakis mansion on Thursday’s Days episode, he was shocked over Sarah’s news.
Sarah blurted out that she wanted a divorce and left Rex reeling.
EJ also met back up with Susan, who wanted to know if he’d been on his best behavior while she was gone.
EJ acted like that wouldn’t be any fun and tried to keep things light, but he looked pensive in the end.
In the park, Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) told Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) that he’d miss her now that she was heading to New York to be near her family and figure things out.
Philip started to walk away on Thursday’s Days episode, but Chloe ultimately asked if Philip would be interested in going with her.
Although Chloe couldn’t make any big commitments since she was just getting out of an engagement, Philip seemed on board with seeing where things might lead.
Afterward, Philip found Kate at the pub and admitted they wouldn’t be spending as much time together, so he started filling her in on his departure decision.
