Days Of Our Lives Recap: Thursday, September 21 – Julie Pushes Vivian Out – John’s Deal Fails – Briefcase Bluff

Days of Our Lives recap for Thursday, September 21 shows that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) are in Brady’s Pub sitting at a table and catching up. Steve says to John, he needs to talk but yet he says nothing. Eventually, John got around to the revelation that the older man John Doe (Dick Van Dyke) turned out to be his real birth father, Timothy Robicheaux.

Meanwhile, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) was upset as she talked to Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) on the phone. He’s late and her parents were coming for dinner-he said he’d send one email and come home-Stephanie asked if she sounded like a nagging housewife?

Chad asked was she meeting him at the door with a rolling pin – just then, someone knocked on the door of his office at Titan. Chad had to hang up and it was Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel), and he asked her why was she there-she asked was that any way to talk to his new boss?

In the meantime, Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) was drinking tea at Doug and Julie Williams’ (Bill Hayes, Susan Seaforth Hayes) house, trying to calm her nerves. She thanked them for letting her stay there, Julie told her she’s family, but had a registered letter to give her.

It was from Vivian-Maggie asked what in the fresh hell is this?

Still in the hotel room in Greece, Theresa Donovan (Jen Lilley) had Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) metal briefcase open and was reading the letters. Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) returned, she quickly put the letters back in the briefcase and hid it.

She asked if they’d found any leads, and Brady told her to cut the act-they knew what she’d been up to. Theresa said she could explain, but it wasn’t what she thought it would be-Alex said the guy at the front desk told them she’d ordered expensive food on his credit card.

DOOL Spoilers: Theresa Keeps Lying

Theresa said it wouldn’t have happened if she’d been allowed to come with them, Brady again said spare the act; she asked if they had any leads.

Meanwhile, back at Doug and Julie’s, Maggie opened the letter and found out that Vivian had fired her from Titan Enterprises. In the Titan office, Chad asked Vivian what the hell she was talking about, and she informed her Maggie was out and she is in.

She cited her and Victor’s divorce never having been finalized, and Chad called bull, and Vivian again claimed the will was destroyed.

Back at the Brady Pub, John and Steve continued talking, with John telling him the whole story of how Joseph Bell, aka Yo Ling had been in a foxhole with Timothy.

Timothy had been hit with shrapnel, causing a traumatic brain injury, and cried for help and Bell had simply switched dog tags with him and left him to die.

Steve commented that sure sounds like a Yo Ling move-so, he screws up your father’s life, until your father meets you. John says yes, it’s pretty amazing-Steve said pretty miraculous, and John said his father is a great guy and he and Doc and the kids loved having him.

Steve was happy for him, and John said it’s not what he deserves, it’s what his father deserves, and so they’re going to dote on him. Steve then called for a toast.

Back at Stephanie and Chad’s, Stephanie gave Kayla some wine-Kayla asked where the kids were, and Stephanie asked where Steve was. Kayla said Steve and John were talking before he came, Stephanie said Chad was held up at work.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers Recap: Stephanie Marrying Chad?

Kayla brought up Theresa and said she was glad to have seen her, and asked if Stephanie thought she was going after Brady. Stephanie told her she was going after Alex now, and Kayla wasn’t sure Stephanie was over Alex-Stephanie said she’s committed to Chad. Kayla asked if that meant if she saw herself marrying Chad.

Meanwhile, Chad called Maggie and found out it was true about Vivian firing her, Maggie commenting she was already at the office, calling her a succubus. Chad wanted to know if there was anything he could do, and Maggie told him to do what he had to do, he wasn’t betraying her by working for Vivian.

Maggie told him to find out what she’s up too and Chad hung up. He asked Vivian what her vision was, and she was protecting Victor’s legacy; Chad said she should go to Greece and pick olives-Vivian commented, very droll. She is going to return to Victor’s original vision of selling drugs through Titan, and Chad assumed illegal ones- then he resigned.

Back at Doug and Julie’s, Julie said Vivian can’t get away with this, she was calling Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth). Maggie didn’t think Justin could do anything, there was no will so Vivian was sole heir and had all power, she could fire board members who crossed her.

They had to face the fact that Vivian was now unstoppable. Meanwhile, back at the Pub, John asked Steve how Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) was holding up with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) on the lam.

Steve said he was hanging in there, but Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) asked him not to get involved. John knew Steve wanted to look for Ava, and told him Brady and Alex were investigating Victor’s last days-he didn’t go because he didn’t want to be the third wheel.

Days of Our Lives – Thursday Update – Back in Greece

Back in Greece, Brady didn’t want to reveal anything to Theresa, not trusting her-Alex mentioned Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapelos) mentioning a letter and the letters at Victor’s childhood home were missing.

Theresa pulled out the briefcase and suggested maybe they were in there. Brady wanted to know how she got the briefcase and she told him her dad gave it to her. Brady asked why didn’t she tell them, and said they should open it-Theresa stopped him, saying it’s not a good idea.

Meanwhile, back at the Pub Steve, still talking to John, wanted to know if he knew what Vivian was up to-John told him about Vivian wanting to steal all Maggie’s inheritance. Steve said Vivian was jealous and crazy, and just then she walked up and warned John about watching what he says in public.

Back at Stephanie and Chad’s place, she told Kayla they’d just moved in together-Kayla reminded her she moved in with his kids too, and that makes a difference. Stephanie said they’re too young for a place of their own, Kayla saying they’re getting attached to her-and Stephanie acknowledged she’s reciprocating.

Kayla asked if marriage wasn’t the logical next step, Stephanie asking the next step for her and Chad or the best steo of her meddling, Catholic mother?

Kayla said it had nothing to do with her Catholicism, she was worried about the children-didn’t she want to marry Chad? Stephanie replied of course, just as Chad was entering and sticking his head in the doorway.

Back in Greece, Theresa told Brady that Victor wanted Maggie to open it, per her dad Shane Donovan (Charles Shaugnessy).

Brady agreed and he guessed they were done and should all go home; Alex had checked, and no flights were available until tomorrow, and Theresa tried to follow Brady to his room. Back in Salem, Chad offered to leave so Stephanie and Kayla could finish their conversation, and Stephanie said that was ridiculous.

Stephanie continued, saying her mom was just being Mom and her dad would be there soon. She gave Chad some wine and asked how his day was, he said it was okay until Vivian showed up. Meanwhile, at the Pub, Vivian called John her darling nephew and asked why he never visited her in prison.

John told her he hadn’t wanted to, and with that, Steve congratulated John on finding his true birth father and left. Vivian asked if John was surprised over seeing her, but he already knew she was there and that her inheritance wasn’t good for Maggie.

Vivian said enough about Maggie, and told John she wanted him to come work for her. Back at Doug and Julie’s, she told Maggie not to worry – she’d help her find a way to fight this and in the meantime she should continue staying with her and Doug. Maggie wanted to look for her own place but Julie called that nonsense, saying Grandma would roll over in her grave if she didn’t offer Maggie to stay.

The Hortons have always stuck together-Maggie remarked if she’d learned Victor had squandered his fortune and didn’t have any money, this situation would have made her laugh. But as far as Vivian stealing everything Victor worked so hard for-Brady and Alex just had to find something to stop her; they had to!

Back in Greece, Theresa said she barely was acquainted with Alex, and Brady snarked that never mattered to her! Alex defended her, telling Brady that was really below the belt; Theresa reiterated she and Brady share a child, they can share a room.

DOOL Recap – Theresa and Brady Romance?

Theresa wasn’t interested in sleeping with Brady, but he didn’t want to share a room and called her desperate and pathetic over her delusions they were getting back together. Brady then told Theresa just stop, and he left-she started to cry, and Alex asked if she was okay-she said, not really, and they started hugging.

Back in Salem, Chad told Stephanie and Kayla he had to quit because Vivian wanted to use Titan for drug smuggling; Steve arrived and said it felt like a morgue there. Stephanie filled Steve in on Vivian taking charge of Titan, and Steve said, damn that woman.

Back at the Pub, John was incredulous, asking Vivian if she really wanted him to be her COO? Vivian filled him in about Chad quitting – John said he had a job. Vivian said he was an Alamain, and had better things to do – he said on one condition.

John demanded Vivian give Maggie back her house, Vivian said it was her house, and her lawyer said if she gave Maggie anything then she’d forfeit the fortune – John declined the job.

Back in the hotel room in Greece, Alex tried to comfort Theresa, saying Brady didn’t really mean that, Theresa said oh yes, he did. Alex told Theresa Brady is worried about Maggie, and Theresa turned his attention back to herself. Everyone thinks she’s awful and unlovable – Alex tried to excuse Brady some more, mentioning Victor’s death and his losing custody of Rachel Black (Finlay Rose Slater).

Theresa told Alex that Brady called her desperate and pathetic, Alex said it wasn’t true, she was smart and beautiful, and pushed her to look at herself in the mirror. Theresa asked you think I’m beautiful – she thanked him and pulled him into a clinch.

Back at Stephanie and Chad’s, she asked shouldn’t Vivian keep quiet about trading illegal drugs? Chad said Vivian thinks outside the box, and he and Stephanie laughed about it. Steve loved how they laughed together, and then he asked if they were thinking about getting married!

At Doug and Julie’s house, Vivian showed up with Maggie’s figurines and gloated she needed a tax deduction. Julie became livid, telling her she threw Maggie out of her house and now it was her turn to throw her the hell out of Julie’s!

Julie pushed Vivian out the door, although Maggie accepted her figurines before Julie started extricating Vivian.

In Greece, Brady made a call to John and told him about the briefcase, and that Shane apparently said for Maggie to open it. John asked didn’t you talk to him?

Brady said no, Shane had left it with someone else for him, but he didn’t reveal who. In the meantime, Alex revealed his bare chest as he and Theresa started making out.
